Re: Spirit Fish

So I've been attempting to see about this fish and how exactly it was removed from the game. Or, take a look at the assembly code for the game and see if it is indeed possible to catch. I wasn't getting anywhere until I talked to K73SK who told me the fish's # is "09". From this I was able to determine the other Fish numbers and how to change what fish you've hooked. I wrote some gameshark codes: (I didn't verify any of these since I don't use gameshark. I use a different program and have to convert the codes to GS)

8056E3AC 00XX - Catch the following fish

09 = Spirit
08 = Baraba
07 = Devourer
06 = Octoban
05 = HighCharger
04 = Fly Pie
03 = Jack
02 = Charger
01 = Lippian
00 = Spikefish

I noticed as soon as I set the code, whatever fish that was hooked became super aggressive, aka their life/recover/etc stats were loaded as the Spirit fish. I of course had to find a tension and fish health code to even catch the 野菜 thing so I wrote these:

8056E349 0000 - Tension 0
8056E479 0000 - Fish Health 0

Once I catch the fish, the fish that flies out of the water is what I SHOULD have caught (Charger, Fly Pie, etc), but when it displays the fish in front of you, it is a Spirit and gives you the appropriate points (over 1000 for medium!).

Would someone mind sharing any other pertinent codes for this?

Now if anyone is good with decoding assembly language, we could try to figure this out but I am not that familiar with the techniques to find this. I will more likely have to request help over at emutalk.com :P

Edit: Editing this post in case someone reads it first since someone decided to bump it :P Yes, you can catch Spirit fish, I found out you have to use a Normal Lure only.

I'm stumped
I am a true legaian; I play the game endlessly to find my answers >_>
So I might either play for hours or maybe find an email of one of the creators of legaia and email them...
I managed to find a working email for the composer of banjo kazooie... I asked him alot of questions and he revealed to me a few secrets...
it really do be like that tho

I know a little assembly, but I would of be no use decoding it and saying, "here's where it lies in memory!" - I haven't got that far into decompiling... yet.

And those secrets are? NVM thought banjo kazooie was a person's name not a different game 'dizzy. How does one find an email for a Legaia employee?

Well Sise found one, but out of respect of the original creators, I think it's better to not hassle them and just dissect the game ourselves.

My gosh I hate all my old posts.

Okay so you gotta use a normal lure; is it still extremely difficult to catch without gameshark?
it really do be like that tho

I hear it's a 1/32 chance that you'll hook a Spirit Fish.

This should show you kind of how hard it is. Just depends on how good you are and your luck.
