UTHMA and WENDY discuss their next move, which is still to head to BIRON UNIVERSITY. When they get there, they meet instructors CAINE and LEINA to train under them. It turns out that there is a bounty over CAINE's head, but in exchange for letting him go free, UTHMA expects free lessons from the incredibly expensive school. LEINA prepares to teach WENDY about knife fighting, and UTHMA will get lessons in both hand-to-hand combat and flashy swordplay from CAINE.

UTHMA learns several new techniques from CAINE, and is able to beat him in the final spar for testing. WENDY learns to move in evasive ways, and also managed to pin her instructor LEINA. Afterwards, the two pass their safety examinations and are allowed to select a new weapon (sword for UTHMA and twin knives for WENDY) and inscribe their own name or phrase on it.

UTHMA and WENDY both select the wicked-looking weapons, choosing to inscribe EXCALIBUR and XIII, respectively. WENDY also upgrades UTHMA's Seru, ULKOS, enhancing his fire powers. Meanwhile, in RATAYU, REDHOLLOW is given the task to kill K73SK and spare DAMIEN ALEXANDER at the USHA RESEARCH CENTER by LORD SISE-NEG himself.

REDHOLLOW lays out his heavy terms for SISE-NEG, who decides to scam the ninja by falsely accepting the conditions. In return, he commands REDHOLLOW work with MR. VIRUS in the job. The unlikely duo prepare to leave for the USHA RESEARCH CENTER, but suddenly spot UTHMA and WENDY...

REDHOLLOW orders MR. VIRUS to drive up to UTHMA and WENDY for a little bout of smack talk. Afterwards, a fight ensues. MR. VIRUS easily overpowers WENDY, though her speed aids her fighting greatly. UTHMA and REDHOLLOW seem to be evenly matched, but UTHMA gets the upper hand by utilizing ULKOS to distract REDHOLLOW. However, ULKOS malfunctions and strikes UTHMA instead, ending the fight. SISE-NEG orders REDHOLLOW and MR. VIRUS to leave immediately to the USHA RESEARCH CENTER. As he gets to his feet, UTHMA blames WENDY and ends their deal and partnership, carrying ULKOS away, leaving WENDY by herself.

With UTHMA no longer wanting to be partners, WENDY returns to her old home in BUMA, which she hasn't seen in years. Inside, she tells her story to her older brother RAIVE, who has also been gone for quite some time. He agrees to help her become a mercenary by accompanying and training her.
