Well hi there!
I was told to introduce myself here, so here I am, I suppose. Though I guess I should talk about how I came to find this place too.
When I was a child - say, six or seven - my dad and I moved to Tennessee, due to circumstances I'd rather not discuss. It was there that I first started playing video games, mostly on the Nintendo 64 - Pokemon Stadium, Star Wars Episode I Pod Racer, Gauntlet Legends, stuff like that. I had even played a bit of Pokemon Blue Version on the Gameboy, though I didn't know that was an RPG (or even what an RPG was, but that's a different story).
About a year later, my late mother's best friend and her children moved in with us, again due to circumstances I'd rather not talk about, and they just happened to have a Playstation. Not very many games, though - Crash Bandicoot: Warped, some Reboot thing, maybe a Tomb Raider game... I think that's it, but I'm probably forgetting something.
Anyway, one day at school I was telling a friend (who I sadly haven't seen since moving back to my home state) that I had a Playstation. He tells me he has one too, along with this really cool game I should try out. He brought it the next day, and it turned out to be the very game this website is based on (the first one, anyway).
It was my very first console JRPG, and ensured that it would become my favorite genre (though I do play platformers and action games as palette cleansers). I never did beat the game - I got stuck at the final boss several years and another copy later - but Legend of Legaia is still my favorite game of all time.
I don't remember what caused it - I think it was a YouTube video of one of the game's themes - but around October of last year I started remembering this game. Like, we're talkin' a pretty big rush of nostalgia. I thought about it for a while, before deciding that I wanted to show this game to others - as many people as I possibly could. I wanted to show people what made this game special to me. The ugly-yet-charming graphics. The incredible soundtrack. The pretty-good-for-its-time-but-still-kinda-bad localization. One of the best turned-based battle systems I've ever encountered. The twists and turns of its plot.
So I started a Let's Play. I've been working these past five months to make it the best LP I possibly can, and I think I'm doing at least an okay job. I've used this website for several tidbits of information - mostly HP values of all the bosses and locations for a few items. Because of that, I want to thank the dude in charge for putting this place on the internet - otherwise I'm not sure where I'd get the information.
If anyone wants to, you can read the LP here; I'll also update my signature with info about LP's I'm working on once I'm done with this post. I hope you enjoy reading it! EDIT: Hmm, it seems I can't fit the relevant info into my signature. I guess I could just link to the newest updates in this thread? Or maybe make a thread for my LP's? I guess I'll leave that up to you guys, assuming anyone's interested.

Now, uh, I guess I can talk about myself a little, heh. I go by Soren Highwind (or various permutations thereof) in internet-land; my username is a reference to the winged dudes from Legend of Legaia, this dude, and these dudes.
I love music and hope to make a career out of it one day, though what, exactly, that will entail, I haven't decided. My favorite genres are classic rock, old-school prog, the occasional metal song, and, of course, the myriad and various styles of video game music; I've also been getting into electronica lately, as well as remixes of Touhou music (though I've never actually played any game in that particular series and probably won't for a while). My favorite band/artist is Led Zeppelin; my favorite video game composer, meanwhile, is a tie between Nobuo Uematsu, Motoi Sakuraba, and Yasunori Mitsuda.
Obviously, since I'm here and all, I love playing video games, and always have ever since I first laid eyes on the original grey-brick Gameboy. My favorite genres are RPGs, action games, and platformers. I also enjoy fighting games, even though I'm pretty terrible at anything that isn't Super Smash Bros. >_> Speaking of video games, I love working on Let's Plays, and have been doing so for about a year now. I've come a long way from my rather terrible first attempt, but I feel I still have a lot to learn.
Aaaanndd... that's all I can think of at the moment. I know that's probably way too long for most people to read, but this place doesn't seem too active anyway, so eh. *shrug* See you around, I guess!

Welcome! And like I said before, I think your name is really cool
I wouldn't mind seeing a LP thread somewhere. I always like those.

Re: Well hi there!
Whoa when I said introDuce I meant a name and age and etc; not a life story
Anyway welcome to the site; I shall call you chief, I am the unofficial nicknamer.
I call you chief due to legaia 1 & 2 having people named cheif west wind and etc
So welcome chief! This is our little home!
I assume your around 18-25 or so correct?

Thanks. And that's good to know; I might make one later today.MJZuproc_II wrote:Welcome! And like I said before, I think your name is really cool

I'm not sure why I typed so much, to be honest. Maybe it was because it was past midnight and I was tired, I dunno. *shrug* To answer your question, I'm 19, so you assume correctly.redhollowlives999 wrote:Whoa when I said introDuce I meant a name and age and etc; not a life story
