Would Songi have been successful in overthrowing Cort?

Post by LegaiaWiki » Thu Mar 01, 2012 6:43 pm

So, it becomes clear that Songi was planning to overthrow Cort, or at least heavily implied. If the Ra-Seru heroes did not interfere and Songi was free to fight Cort on his own do you think he would have defeated him and took his place? Do you think Prince Cort had known all along about Songi's plan but just used him?

Thoughts?

Keep in mind that gameplay stats =/= canon power, so if you do think Songi would have beaten Cort eventually don't argue it based on his stats being higher overall in his final form.

Tough say.... Cort
Cort had everything planned out, and I assume he also planned out betrayal

I don't think songi wanted to overthrow cort.. I actually think cort removed the egg from the tree in the east voz forest because perhaps he sensed the evil in song and decided to make him his second... Because when songi told that boss (name alludes me at the moment) that cort was only using her, he sounded like he knows corts intentions and is helping him since songi's real mission was to become the strongest
it really do be like that tho

I honestly think that Songi would have lost at his current state against cort. If he had waited longer for the Sim-Seru to transfer and actually become powerful over the extreme, then there'd be a possibility for Songi. But Cort possessed Juggernaut, a force field, and his own Sim-Seru. I doubt he'd let another's sim-seru become more powerful than his own, intentionally anyway.

Remember that Songi only got as powerful as he was during the third fight because he absorbed a large chunk of the Great Genesis Tree's power - at least enough to kill it, however much that may be in percentage or absolute amount. Coupled with the fact that Cort was not stupid and would have taken steps to ensure that he maintained power, I don't see Cort creating a Sim-Seru more powerful than the one he was wearing.
Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.

One thing that I do wonder about is if Songi had been successful in defeating the Ra-Seru heroes and absorbing the power of the Seru-kai into himself, would Juggernaut have died and Cort with it? It would have killed off all the Ra-Seru for certain, but do you think Juggernaut's survival depended on the Great Genesis Tree like the other Seru, or would Cort's fusion with Juggernaut have made it self-sustaining?

I think cort's halve of the bargain would have kept juggernaut alive..
Cort went so far as to fuse himself with a gaint sim-seru; and I think he planned to do it again with ANOTHER juggernaut (seru brides thing.)
And either way I don't think the sim seru would die out, seeing how its manmade and all, I do understand people destroying it after the defeat of cort.... The sim-seru part isn't really explained in dept at the end...
Well I wouldn't know since. I never actually 'beat the game'
More like I did some research on my spare time
it really do be like that tho

The whole thing with Songi and Cort is weird. It's like, Cort is using Songi (by having him join him), but Songi is using Cort (by planning to screw him over), but then Cort could be using Songi again (by knowing that the Sim-Seru could mess him up all along and cause him to summon Juggernaut).

I really would've loved to see how the the the the the Songi got involved with Cort in the first place. Sise and I were joking about it a while back in the chatroom (you don't wanna know how XD), but it would've been interesting to see how things started. I'm picturing a kind of, "So, you wanna beat Gala, Songi? Then just put this thing on..." "DERP! Okay! Seems safe enough!"

So whether Songi would've been able to overthrow Cort comes from the question of whether Cort did know Songi was using him in the first place. I'm honestly not sure. I think Cort just thought Songi was another idiot he could use, like Zora, and would've disposed of him as soon as he stopped being useful. The whole thing with Songi's Sim-Seru causing him to go insane(r) and calling up Juggernaut was just luck, I think.
