Re: Top 5 Games
Hmm well for my fifth I would go with Rise of Nations. I put many hours into Civilization 3 back in the day but when I got my hands on Rise of Nations I fell in love with it. It is basically exactly the same as Civilization except instead of turn based it's real-time strategy.
My fourth would be Minecraft. This game is so astronomical that I can't leave it out. It comes close to having an infinite world and there is so much to do in it from survival to building anything you want. Although this is probably my least played on my list I think it deserves to be on it.(I believe the size of a minecraft world is comparable to the surface area of 10 Jupiters aka HUGE)
My third is League of Legends. I've put probably close to 2,000 hours in this game and I still play it today even.
My second is Final Fantasy X. I've spent over 1,000 hours in this game easy. I've replayed it several times. I even bought the HD remaster version.
My first is none other than Starcraft. I will include all Starcrafts because it would be too hard to pick one and the original Starcraft and Broodwar were a major part of my childhood. From what I'm told I was playing Starcraft back when I was 6 years old on my friend's N64. I'd go over there and pray he was home so we could play some Starcraft. Much later in life I got it for PC and played the campaigns. Much later again I played Starcraft online and got into Fastest Map Possible. I was purely addicted at that point. I remember one morning I was up until like 7 am on a school night playing it. I jumped in bed when my dad's alarm clock went off and went to school at my usual 7:30 I think. The Starcraft II campaign and Heart of the Swarm was/is amazing. I just replayed them like last week. When I first got Starcraft II I was into the online play and got Platinum 1v1 Diamond 4v4 Diamond 3v3 and I think Diamond 2v2. I'm not interested in having 100+ apm though so I decided I'll never be as good as the best players and kind of quit the competitive play. The huge impact this game has had on my life(turning me into a video game addict
) makes it a nondisputable #1.
1.Starcraft(all)
2.Final Fantasy X
3.League of Legends
4.Minecraft
5.Rise of Nations
Honorable Mentions: Final Fantasy 7, Legend of Legaia, Lord of the Rings Battle for MiddleEarth series, Warcraft 3.
I see several others of you have Legend of Dragoon on your list and I also really enjoyed that game. If I was making this list a long time ago closer to when I played it, it may have made it on this list.
Edit: If anyone plays League of Legends and wants to add me or play together my game name is actually the same as my forum name so feel free to add me. I will warn that I play aram only and I'm not that great.
