But I don't actually like writing stories.

Foehrm Launch

A silver door swoosh'd open, retreating into the hollow recess of the wall beside it. Once it was gone, a figure stepped through the threshold. The door quietly shut behind him, smooth as ice.
He found himself standing at the top of a steel stairway overlooking a ship bay. The room was enormous, easily spanning sixty feet from the floor to the ceiling, although the ceiling had machinery that could open it up if need be. The wall on the opposite end of the ship bay was currently opened, providing him with a gorgeous view of skies and clouds.
He was not alone in the bay -- there were dozens of men and women scurrying about the facility. They were all clad in a uniform that shared a similar color scheme and general makeup that his did, although certain clusters of them had specialized suits for their specific roles and jobs. There were freight workers operating machinery, loading enormous crates and other wares onto the ship and smaller transports. Engineers were locked in their designated areas in and around the ship, going through their individual check-ups, relaying information to one another via headsets. Tucked towards one side of the bay were several dozen soldiers, currently getting their arms and equipment inspected and issued.
He could not help but smile at the site. Everything appeared to be running smoothly. There had been a tinge of anxiety in his chest leading up to that moment, and it was now put to ease. He breathed a sigh of relief before glancing down at his own uniform. He adjusted the Admiral insignia proudly displayed on his chest before beginning to descend down the steps.
As soon as he reached the bottom floor, he was approached by an officer holding a tablet in his hands. The two saluted one another before the officer stated, “Good morning, Admiral Klesk. We’re about four minutes ahead of schedule. We’ll be ready for launch in twenty.”
Klesk nodded. “Excellent. Thank you.” The officer excused himself, leaving Klesk alone once more. The Admiral smiled as he looked up at his beautiful ship -- The Foehrm.
The ship had been designed largely by himself specifically for his use after his promotion, and it was everything he had dreamed it to be. It was enormous, sleek, and equipped with the best tech the world had to offer. He himself, being a genius Cyber Seru programmer, had been able to put his own personal touch into its onboard computer systems, which made it all the more his own.
Whilst admiring the ship, he felt a tap on his shoulder, causing him to turn around. He smiled warmly as he came face-to-face with Commander Sise, an old friend who had worked alongside him during their early days in the military. “Today’s the big day, huh?” Sise asked.
Klesk nodded with a grin. “Indeed.”
The two old friends turned towards the Foehrm once more. Sise nodded his head. “She’s a beauty, Klesk. Even better than I imagined.” Sise had assisted Klesk with his design of the ship, and was in fact Klesk’s first supporter. Sise had possessed a favorable reputation in the military academy due to his family’s involvement in pushing the Cyber Seru movement to the spotlight, which kickstarted a revolution in civilization. He was able to use his reputation to give Klesk’s ideas legitimacy in the eyes of investors and higher-ups, eventually leading to this very day.
The Admiral exhaled in content. “This is just the beginning, Sise. Just the beginning.”
“You haven’t given up on it?”
Klesk looked to Sise with a smirk. “Of course not. Why? Did you?”
Sise snickered. “As if. You might have this beauty,” he said, gesturing towards the Foehrm. “But I’m still bringing about Resurrection first.”
Arms folded across his chest, Klesk chuckled. “We’ll see about that!”
The two exchanged a laugh before Klesk changed the subject. “How’s the Wikk?”
The Wikk was Commander Sise’s own ship. It wasn’t as large as the Foehrm, but it was better suited for intense combat. The Wikk had been assigned to escort the Foehrm on its maiden voyage to provide protection in case anything went awry. Klesk was happy with the arrangement, as even though he was confident in his ship, more support never hurt anyone.
“She’s ready to go,” Sise responded. “Two docks over. Just waiting on you.”
The clipboard-carrying officer from earlier stepped up to the two, and more salutes were exchanged. “Admiral Klesk. Your presence is requested on the bridge.”
Klesk nodded. “Alright. Thank you.” The officer exited once more as Klesk turned to Sise. “Here we go.”
Sise patted Klesk’s shoulder. “I should head to the Wikk right now. Good luck.”
The two men separated as Klesk began to head towards the bridge of the ship. He stepped onto a platform that began to rise towards the main entrance door. On the way up, Klesk looked over to Sise, who was ascending the stairs towards the launch bay exit. The Commander cupped a hand beside his mouth. “That thing’s expensive! You better not crash it! The Wikk can’t hoist that giant outta the ocean!”
