I created a Facebook group for Legend of Legaia speedrunning if anyone wants to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/400741906762515/
Unfortunately, I do not have and do not plan to get a FaceBook account, as I am concerned about my online privacy and don't have much use for one at this time.

However, please feel free to post any inquiries that other users on that group may have for me in this thread.

I've posted the link to your run on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comme ... in_113702/) and a couple people had no idea this game was still being run :)
I think Legend of Legaia speedrunning should be it's own sub-forum instead of having a single thread. It would make more sense to have different theories and strategies re: speedrunning the game to be separate threads instead of being cobbled together in one (which is now 6 pages long). It might also help Google index Legaia related searches better and searches for Legaia and Speedrunning, hence possibly bringing more people to the community.
Thoughts?

I suppose it could be a sub-forum, but there are few people here willing to break down Legaia into a science and beat it in under 12 hours. I wouldn't expect it to be all that popular of a sub-forum.

At the current time, I don't think we need a speedrunning subforum. If we have a few more people doing so, maybe.

Also, I could see categories of this game being run - Zeto speedruns are about 2 1/2 hours, and I think that could be a worthy race category.

Anyway, I just wanted to inform the public here that I will be doing another WR attempt three weeks from today. That is, Saturday, March 28 from 9:30 AM MST (9:30 AM PDT, 12:30 PM EDT, 5:30 PM in London, etc.) until 9:00 PM or whenever I get done.

If you enjoyed what you saw last time or missed it and want to watch it live, please tune in, tell your friends, and so forth.

What will you do differently to make this a faster run?

Less grinding, hopefully less bad execution with the slots, and more Kemaro if I can get one of the two 45% absorbs in Ratayu. I was only 45 minutes ahead of the old WR, whereas I know I can beat the then-WR by around 1 hour, 20 minutes.

Also, there were a couple of routes I did that were slow - Swordie doesn't really save time, which I know now.

As for the date, the 28th is the best date for me before May. I have a paper due on the 20th, and presentations are the 23rd through 25th. This means that I can probably afford to take Saturday off from schoolwork on account of it being right after a major deadline.

So... just practice slots? Getting a double Kemaro absorption is rare, and purely luck-based. I wouldn't really know about the slow routes since I tuned it right before Jette.

You COULD get a rapid-fire controller to speed though the text faster, and cause less wear on your X button.

Turbo controllers are generally banned by the broader English-speaking Speedrunning community, so that's not an option.

Getting a double Kemaro absorb is a 20.25%, but I only need a single Kemaro absorb (by Vahn), which is an additional 49.5% chance on top of the double absorb. Unfortunately, I didn't get either, which really hurt me on Gaza 1, Dohati, and Saryu, and probably cost me a turn on Gi Delilas to boot.
