Re: Come, let's sit around the fire.
It takes months to join? K7 activate my account after about a week after registration. Maybe he's been slackin' off.

Re: Come, let's sit around the fire.
Hmm, didn't take no time at all for my account activation...also, if people keep deciding not to join us because the site isn't 'all that active' then how will we ever become active? The best way to generate activity is to have more members...the more there are the more active the community will become.

Re: Come, let's sit around the fire.
That would seem to be a detriment to joining. If the community is seen as relatively inactive (fair enough) and newcomers start joining only to hit a brick wall because admin approval is required to post, I would imagine a lot of people are just not going to even bother. I could see the use if there's waves and waves of spambots and there are sufficient numbers of administrators to process these requests, but I do question the efficacy of requiring specific admin approval for each application.
Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.

To be honest... I was going to join like a year earlier, but decided against it because of this. I understand how this could bug someone.Nightshade wrote:Newcomers start joining only to hit a brick wall because admin approval is required to post.

Yeah, I believe it took well over 6+ months for my application to be accepted. When I saw the email, I was like "legendoflegaia.net...? OH."
Again, I point this out because I'd like no more than to see this site bustling with Legaia fans. I see the potential and the passion.

SIX MONTHS!?
...Sorry to hear that. Hopefully, this kind of stuff will happen sooner in the future.

Many many months? It only takes a quick "register" and "email" to join lol. We tend to ignore requests to register who don't send out an email (as requested during the sign up process) because the hundreds of bots that try to join the forums. But every once in awhile, we email out the requests to see if there are any people who didn't see the request somehow. So really, it's usually 24 hours to join not months.ChaoticEmerald wrote:Friends of mine who love Legaia (almost) as much as me said the site is cool, but they're not interested in joining because they don't want to wait many, many months just to join a community
But anyhow, I hope you stick around for more than 20 posts.

Yeah, I saw your request and I broke a tiny little itty bitty rule to see if you were real by emailing you. I don't really like the system we've got now, but it's (apparently) our sole defense against bots, so, yeh.
Stick, around, we're not THAT inactive (I've been but yeah, not the point).

There's gotta be a better way to fight off the bots.
Like... plasma rifles.

There is. It's called the ban hammer.
But then they just come endlessly (I have no problem with that cuz I love using the banhammer but K7 doesn't and he's my boss's boss's CEO).
