What Game Mechanics would you like to know?
Re: What Game Mechanics would you like to know?
Ah sorry, skipped a step. Those are the same chances for any effect, but before it is executed, the game randomizes what the Nighto will do.
1/8 times it will cast Death
7/8 times it will cast Confuse
So I guess you could view it as...
Level 1 - 6.25% death 43.75% confuse
Level 2 - 6.6175% death 46.3225% confuse
Level 3 - 7.03125% death 49.21875% confuse
Level 4 - 7.5% death 52.5% confuse
Level 5 - 8.036% death 56.25% confuse
Level 6 - 8.65375% death 60.57625% confuse
Level 7 - 9.375% death 65.625% confuse
Level 8 - 10.2275% death 71.5925% confuse
Level 9 - 11.25% death 78.75% confuse
1/8 times it will cast Death
7/8 times it will cast Confuse

It sounds like the game applies the same probabilities regardless of what the enemy in question is. That is, there is no elemental effect, or anything like that, so long as the enemy doesn't have complete immunity to Nighto. Is this correct?
Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.
Re: What Game Mechanics would you like to know?
Not sure if this is a game mechanic - but what element if any is Xain? It doesn't appear that any elemental jewels reduce his damage, but Gala seems to take less than other characters and Noa does more (as if he's earth element).
Is there some programming confusion here?

He's earth element. I have noticed a decrease in damage when equipping the Earth Jewel.

Re: What Game Mechanics would you like to know?
Yep, he's Earth so that's why Noa opposes him and Gala can defend better.

I have not noticed a drop in damage with earth jewel in testing. You sure? Every other boss I see a HUGE drop with the appropriate jewel.
Re: What Game Mechanics would you like to know?
Yup, I just checked. His Element is 00-Earth. Did you check against multiple moves of his? Maybe individual spells/skills can be different elements.

Yes checked against multiple attacks. For every other boss, every attack seems to be of the same element - even Cort1 summoning Juggernaut is dark element for some reason!meth962 wrote:Yup, I just checked. His Element is 00-Earth. I don't see why Xain would be different.......
Maybe I'll do some quick testing tomorrow.
Re: What Game Mechanics would you like to know?
You are right Garik, something is wrong with Xain unless it's intentional. Both his Bull Horns and Terio Punch ignore the affects of the Earth Jewel even though it is counted as Earth damage. What that means is the characters still suffer/do better against the Earth damage but the Earth Jewel doesn't help.
It DOES help on his melee attacks, but that is about it.

Do certain arts have a higher base damage? What are they?
For instance, Charging Scorch does more damage than Hyper Elbow. Does that have to do with whether they are LDF or UDF?
