The old man gets up and looks at the duo. "Well, I suppose I must thank you two for your help. I woke up, came out to do some gardening, and here I get attacked by a bunch of wolves that must have been waiting for me to exit the house. If not for that pesky wolf jumping onto my back, I may have been able to take them all out much easier..." The old man turns and starts to walk back to his garden next to his home without regard to the duo.

Olivi asks the old man: "Please wait; we have a request. The alchemist Xelson spoke of a great wizard who lives near here who may be able to help us, and based on the wall of fire that you summoned, I guess it's not unreasonable for us to assume that said wizard is either you or a friend of yours. We found a note left by some of the bandits attacking the city, but whatever information is contained within has been sealed by magic. I don't know what we could offer in exchange for the wizard's services, but I would request aid; I've always been more bashing faces, less repealing the laws of physics at will."

(I'm assuming G-Pow took all the pelts? And Charisma is used in situations exactly like this one. Your charisma skill check passed and allowed the wizard to say the following... Good timing for a point in the skill lol).

"Normally, I turn strangers away who ask for a wizards help only when they desire it, rather than showing respect for the few of us... Especially us elders. But yes, I can perhaps help you. Just don't expect much more from me. I prefer much to be alone and live with nature..."
