Alright, I'll bite.
Legend of Legaia:
Gameplay: 27/30
Story/Atmosphere: 9/10
Entertainment: 36/50 (Specifically, the battles take too long and it's a big grindfest at times.)
Sound: 5/5
Graphics: 4/5
Total Score: 81/100

Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.

Legend of Legaia
Gameplay: 30/30
Story Atmosphere: 10/10
Entertainment: 45/50
Sound: 5/5
Graphics: 3/5 (graphics were only great during battles and videos and the battle gear never changed)
Total: 93/100 A (I'm a big RPG fan and didn't find the need for level grinding really)

I would have done X, but I'll do a different one.
Final Fantasy IV (DS version):
Gameplay: 27/30
Story: 8/10 (A bit bland, but it is a 20 year old game. I'll give it credit.)
Entertainment: 41/50 (Solid, but it's nasty in the difficulty realm)
Sound: 5/5
Graphics: 5/5 (For the system, it's not bad at all).
Final Score: 86/100

Everyone's different in how they would weigh their components.Zup wrote: Gameplay: /30

Also, there comes a letter grade with each score
90 - 100 = A
70-89 = B
50-69 = C
30-49 = D
0-29 = F
After not thinking about it for very long:
Graphics/Feel/Presentation/Design (20) - How does it graphically compare to others release around the same time, does it feel outdated or does the generally feeling fit for the game's time. How are the components in the game presented, are things just there or do they mesh well? What about the menus, fonts chosen? How are the environments developed, is effort put into them or do they feel rather lazy?
Gameplay/Difficulty/Learning Curve (25) - How does it play? Is the game able to draw you in? Is it balanced, does it seem polished or are there a lot things that make the gameplay rough? What about the battle mechanics. How are the puzzles in the game? Does the game difficult increase at a satisfactory rate? Bottom line, is it fun to play this game?
Music/Sounds/Voice Acting (15) - How is the music in the game, does it fit with the atmosphere? Are there any memorable tracks? How is the variation in the music? Are there menu sounds? Is there voice acting? How does it compare to games around the same time period?
Storylines/Engagement (20) - What is the story? How interesting is it? Does it mesh with the presentation and design of the game. What about the unwritten background stories of locations such as cities and the world itself? What about the finer details, the locales, the history, the things the make up the universe in the game. Does it game engage you? Does it make you want to play it over doing something else? Does the game make it feel like you are really involved or part of the world?
Characters (20) - Do you like the characters? Can you relate to them? How are they written? How are they integrated in the story and universe of the game. Do you care about the characters? How well do the interact with each other.
After thinking about it some more. What genre the game is can weigh the points differently.

In my (shoddy) defense, I wrote that garbage in 2011, and everyone knows I was a dumb dweeb in those days (I still am, but for different reasons).van wrote:Everyone's different in how they would weigh their components.
I don't even use any scale like that anymore.

Re: Let's Review Games!
Bleh, I wasn't saying it was terrible or trashing it. I actually like a weighted scale and wish more reviewers use it. What scale are you using now?Zup wrote:In my (shoddy) defense, I wrote that garbage in 2011, and everyone knows I was a dumb dweeb in those days (I still am, but for different reasons).van wrote:Everyone's different in how they would weigh their components.

I guess day two lasts two years. There is a lot to review with Final Fantasy Though.
Legend of Legaia, a pinnacle of human achievement, will always have a place in my heart
