Dungeons and Dragons!
Dungeons and Dragons!
So...being the uber-nerd that I am, I have to ask: How many of you have played D&D at some point in your lives? How many of you play it still? Go into details if you like!
I first got into D&D when 2nd Edition first came out. I went with my parents to visit some relatives. Out in the garage/game room were 2 of my younger cousins and one of my older (alot older, and female) cousins were playing some game....they had paper, pencils and dice EVERYWHERE. They were just starting and invited me to play. The game was, of course, Dungeons and Dragons. I made my first ever character: A Gnome fighter named Hades (I had recently watched Disney's Hercules, lol). Countless fits of laughter soon ensued...we had a blast the entire time we played. Me and the youngest cousin were heated rivals, my Gnome always getting the better of his Dwarf. The other of my younger cousins decided his character was a female Dwarf who was named Chyna (named after the female wrestler) who he played as a super-buff feminist (we were too young to even know what a feminist was, lol). The older cousin was the Dungeon Master of course, but also played a character (a Pixie). The DM was only in town for a visit and soon she left to go back to her home town (2 states away), but she left us her books. From then on we took turns being DM and tried having D&D sessions weekly. It only lasted a couple months but they were some awesome times, lol. I still buy D&D products to this day but there isn't much of a point to it. No one I know plays anymore and I don't care much for online sessions. Just isn't the same when you aren't all around a table bickering with each other, lol. And so I shall leave you with this...a youtube video so frightfully accurate to my childhood gaming sessions that I nearly died from laughing.

I'll be honest when I say I've wanted to try the board games out to just check them out, but have never found myself getting the time to even look into it. I did get into D&D Online awhile back but lost interest quite fast. However, I do like Magic cards...

Re: Dungeons and Dragons!
My nerdiness extends into Magic cards as well. Though I haven't really played much in the last few years. Still wishing my friends were as nerdy as me, lol. I'd be playing D&D and Magic ALOT

The same creators for D&D online made LOTRO. It's not D&D or anything, but it's still quite the MMO in my opinion. I'd check it out if I were you.

Never played D&D cuz I could never find anyone that knew how to help me out
I tried Magic before, but it was too complicated and expensive. The cards look gorgeous tho

Re: Dungeons and Dragons!
I gotta say, I still think that D&D 2nd Edition is my favorite. I've got the books for 3rd edition, 3.5 and 4th edition. While those are fun too, they're really more like a pen-and-paper World of Warcraft (especially 3.5 and 4th edition) than they are D&D. 2nd Edition had a neat rules-supplement called Skills and Powers that I liked using. I also prefer to NOT play with miniatures and a board. If I wanna play grid-based tactic combat i'll play Final Fantasy Tactics or Advance Wars. Needless to say, I'm picky with my D&D

Re: Dungeons and Dragons!
I have never played dungeons and dragons before but it's because no one around here is really into that kind of stuff and the few of us that are had parents that said that its the devil. Though I have checked it out and think it would be fun.
I played D&D online for a little while and I thought it was ok. I wouldn't mind getting together with people and playing it aroumd a table though. I love video games but you can't replace fighting over rules of a board game because someone is making them up so they can win, I love it.

Now we shall all group together and have Lonewulf teach us how to play D&D since we're all interested, lol.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons!
It's very simple. Roll some dice and make crap up. Give it a try real quick....*waits 2 minutes*....there, you just played D&D!
Ok, so it's a wee bit more complicated than that, lol.
