It's a combination of different thought process and how said thoughts influence actions. Emotions are just another random factor that is created through the processing. But they are all involved, yes.

Personality is the particular combination of emotional, attitudinal, and behavioral response patterns of an individual.
Personality is usually broken into components called the Big Five, which are openness to experience, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism (or emotionality).
