what are your favorite anime shows/movies?
Re: what are your favorite anime shows/movies?
I have no idea, i think it is because i watchedit alot before I knew there was a such thing as a animation genre called "Anime"

Re: what are your favorite anime shows/movies?
DBZ: I don't tend to watch cartoons with ridiculous-sized muscle men running around talking about dragon balls and how they want them.redhollowlives999 wrote:Dude, you have absolutely no taste.
Bleach: Plot is just horrible. I do get it. I just think it's horrible.
Cowboy Bebop is just boring imo. Watched a few episodes and never found interest in it.
Naruto is for children.
Don't know what one piece is but since you liked the above, I decided I don't like it now.
Now, have you seen any anime that hasn't been dubbed by America? Or any new anime?
By the way it's "anime" not "anime's" or "animes". You're wrong too.

Re: what are your favorite anime shows/movies?
You wrote anime's, animes is right-ur than that
I'm not fond of One Piece, liked it as a kid though.
CB was amazing bro
you hatin
Naruto is in fact for children, that's why I liked it >___> more comical than the more serious sequel
You be hatin on DBZ too
I like Bleach because it has so many mysteries/unanswered questions @___@ but the anime already ended and I've seen it all, so Idc. The manga is another issue @______@
And yes I have seen (several) 'not dubbed' anime
Usagi Drop is one of them >____> I honestly don't care whether it's dubbed or not, DBZ had some great dubs
I stopped watching Anime a long time ago, decided to move on.
I could name other good "not dubbed" ones, but I won't, it'd only please you.

Then what kind of cartoons do you watch?K73SK wrote: DBZ: I don't tend to watch cartoons with ridiculous-sized muscle men running around talking about dragon balls and how they want them.
I'm sure the concept can be simplified similar to what you just did to DBZ
...so?Naruto is for children.
...Why does this matter? Now, have you seen any anime that hasn't been dubbed by America?
Ah I see. Never was sure. Just copied you guysBy the way it's "anime" not "anime's" or "animes". You're wrong too.

1.) If you can relate big muscle men who want balls with things like southpark, gantz, or higurashi no naku koro ni, then lemme know.Zup wrote: Then what kind of cartoons do you watch?

2.) I have no fascination in childrens cartoons.
3.) Yes. Watching anything dubbed is absolutely annoying. The voices don't match the characters. It's easier to handle in anime because the mouths don't go out of sync like in live action movies, but the voice actors they use for dubbed anime are just...well obnoxious.

Fail to see what you mean by obnoxious. Whether you dislike how they make it or not, that, in no way, affects the actual plot/storyline/really anything else of an anime. it just goes back to the point thy you're picky.
And yes those can be generalized as well. Southpark isn't even that great a show. And I'm not familiar with the other one except for Gantz, didnt bother with it because it looked lame iirc.
And I've seen some anime where the English VA is better than the Japanese VA
And some where the Japanese VA also do the English VA (and those are fairly common)
Favorite VA's are:
Goku from DBZ. Super saiyan 3 scene marked him as one of the best VA's out there
And Sasuke from Naruto/Naruto shippuden. He actually pronounces all the Japanese names correctly, e.g Other say 'Nar- utoe' but he says 'Na-ruto.'
I forgot their names though, one is called Yuri or something.

So, how many people here tried to do a Kamehameha blast? When they were young I mean.

Re: what are your favorite anime shows/movies?
1.) You can enjoy a story line but still hate other things about something. Example: I can watch Elfen Lied in Japanese with no dubs and enjoy it very much. Then if I watch it with dubs, I cannot enjoy it. Saying that I'm picky just because of this... well yeah, you're right. I'm just as picky as you are with not wanting the new forum.redhollowlives999 wrote:Fail to see what you mean by obnoxious. 2.) That didn't relate at all to what I said.
3.) It'd be Na-ru-to if pronounced correctly. How does he pronounce his own name, Sasuke? If I remember hearing it in my head correctly, he pronounces it "so-suke" isntead of "sa-su-ke" with the u being 'silent'.
My friend liked dbz, so we would do that in the pool. Instead of just splashing water at someone we'd do a full "blast" with our palm and a huge wave would smack them in the face. And yeah, we'd say the kamehameha thing before doing it.Prayrius wrote:So, how many people here tried to do a Kamehameha blast? When they were young I mean.

I could, but I won'tK73SK wrote: 1.) If you can relate big muscle men who want balls with things like southpark, gantz, or higurashi no naku koro ni, then lemme know.
Not gonna generalize them like that
That doesn't make a show bad2.) I have no fascination in childrens cartoons.
At all
That's just like your opinion man3.) Yes. Watching anything dubbed is absolutely annoying.
And it also isn't true
There are plenty of shows that have excellent dub work
And most of the time, it isn't an overall "this one is good, this one is bad." You're more likely to find that x character(s) are better in dub and y character(s) that aren't
Nah. Guys like JYB and Yuri Lowenthal and Crispin Freeman and all them (a.k.a. the guys used in every dubbed version of anything ever) are fantasticthe voice actors they use for dubbed anime are just...well obnoxious.
Although I won't deny that some VAs used in dubs aren't annoying-sounding. But there are plenty of Japanese VAs that are annoying as well
Everyone did thisPrayrius wrote:So, how many people here tried to do a Kamehameha blast? When they were young I mean.
If you say you didn't you are a liar
