Yeah, I don't like how the mainstream gaming has turned into "graphiks r kool, hurr durr". I want music to see more of an emphasis in games than it seems to get.
Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.

Everything you said is usually found in the older games, where the only thing you could focus on were the other stuff (Legaia definitely didn't have the best graphics)Nightshade wrote:Yeah, I don't like how the mainstream gaming has turned into "graphiks r kool, hurr durr". To be fair, Legaia did have pretty spicy graphics for 1999 when you look at the in-battle graphics. It's certainly on par with or better than, say, Final Fantasy VIII, which came out around the same time.redhollowlives999 wrote:Everything you said is usually found in the older games, where the only thing you could focus on were the other stuff (Legaia definitely didn't have the best graphics)Nightshade wrote:Yeah, I don't like how the mainstream gaming has turned into "graphiks r kool, hurr durr". Probably because of memory and processor limitations on the PS1 - there's a definite limit to the polygon count and smoothing you could do with 1990's technology compared with today.
While they could program a few dozen character models (the characters, enemy variants, and bosses) along with the different recolors thereof (for character armor and "upgraded" enemy variants), there didn't exist the memory to do so for all areas, nor to do process it fast enough outside of the battle screen.

I feel like my gaming time has been replaced by my internet time. Also, it seems like all the new games are just lame 1st person shooters. Where are some GOOD rpgs??? Ones where the plot and gameplay far exceeds the graphics!!!

I hear this argument all the time but I never, ever understand it.Prayrius wrote:Also, it seems like all the new games are just lame 1st person shooters.
I've been playing and getting hyped for new games for years. Not once have I even touched the game case of a FPS at a store.
You dweebs need to shut ya lips and use Google. There are PLENTY of great games that aren't FPS (not that FPS are inherently bad; they're definitely not).
*Ahem*Prayrius wrote:Where are some GOOD rpgs??? Ones where the plot and gameplay far exceeds the graphics!!!
