Songi (First Fight)
Songi (First Fight)
Okay I have been watching a lot of gaming videos and it seems a lot of people don't realize this but you can use theeder against songi and it does like 400 damage every time. It makes the battle insanely easy for it only last 3 turns. you shouldn't even have to heal yourself. Just thought I would throw that out there.

Re: Songi (First Fight)
At what level of Theeder?
Magic is pretty inefficient in this game in comparison to using arts (as AP regenerates over time) and saving magic for healing. This is only compounded by the fact that healing items are pretty expensive compared to how much EXP you can gain. (It costs 1000 G for a single Magic leaf (if memory serves), and you can get a decent piece of armor at that point in the game, or level-grind and stay at an inn 5 times, for the same amount of money).
The takeaway is: 72 MP to execute that strategy is difficult to manage at that point in the game if you don't want to burn a Door of Light, walk to Biron, heal, walk back to the dungeon and down to the Songi fight in order to continue on to Zeto. Seems pretty inefficient except if you are doing a low-level run. In that case, you still want to have your HP over 520 and at least 72 max MP or there's problems with not having the magic to carry it out. Of course, if you can average 450+ per hit, you can do it in 2 hits. Probably the best low-level strategy that I can think of, since 300/48 is not at all difficult to do (that's what - level 2-3?)

Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.

A.) Level 1
B.) I tend to always have a magic leaf on me so I have never really had any problem with that but sometimes I would go back to Biron and sleep. You have a good point but I have always done this never once had the problem with the magic points running out. And 野菜 it be luck if I have gone through this game over 40 times without once having the problems that you are providing.

Re: Songi (First Fight)
Well, I don't like using items except when I have to, as they are overly expensive and I'd prefer to spend my money on getting better weapons and armor over getting consumable restoratives. As such, I prefer not to use healing and magic leaves when I don't have to.
Maybe it's my natural aversion to use of healing items, or maybe the magic animations are long as all the the the the, but I never find myself using magic except for the last part of the game (when resource conservation isn't much of an issue anymore) or for healing (due to the efficiency of doing so over items).

I'm actually quite the opposite, I having played L2 yet purely because it doesn't have magic. I'm sure you'll say that that is sad or what ever but it is the truth.

Just not Seru based magic.
And I'm kinda like Night. I only really buy consumables for when I run out of MP or something.
it really do be like that tho

However, it is the case that only one character gets access to healing magic, and it's not nearly as good as it is in Legaia 1. At least, that's what I gather from having watched others play the game.

Especially Maya's Mystic art @____@
iirc, it damages the enemy with Light and heals your whole party by... alot...

Re: Songi (First Fight)
From that description, it reminds me of Marta's ultimate arte in ToS II.
(To elaborate, that technique heals your party for around 5000 HP each, and inflicts around 30,000 damage to each enemy. Noting that the final boss has in the neighborhood of 120,000 HP, 30,000 is quite significant for every battle in the storyline and several from the bonus dungeons and fights.)

Re: Songi (First Fight)
For Songi, I just took my time, as like the other time I fought him (to get back on topic).
I primarily used this strategy (or something similar):
Spirit,
Magic,
Attack,
Heal (if I used something else for magic that isn't light based),
Spirit.
Basically, I healed more than I hit for awhile
