It's interesting seeing people's varying taste in games even though we all like Legaia! Uhm here's a few of my fave's at any rate, not that it's a definitive list by any stretch of the imagination. Sorta depends what mood you're in I guess?

BIT TRIP series
Team Fortress 2
Ugghhh this is hard cuz most of these I love from a design perspective. Also this barely touches on PS1/PS2 games and guhhhh what is this.

One of the first RPGs I ever played was Shining Force II, I loved it. I didn't get to play Shining Force I until a good while later on my P.C through emulation, I tried to find it in shops for years though. Well I only have a top 4 game list. And I know you said excluding Legaia but without it I only have a top 3 but My top four are:
1.) Legaia 1
2.) Legend of Dragoon
3.) Final Fantasy 8
4.) Amnesia The Dark Descent
And if I had to choice a 5th one maybe Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time.

Great list, haven't really met anyone that's played the Legend of Dragoon.
