Not necessarily, but I see your point.

Games aren't only for kids, though. In fact I'd say they aren't really intended for them anyway (on an overall scale). Gaming's sort've become like comics in that sense I guess.

The mood is only temporary. Still kinda sucks, but it's not like it doesn't have a purpose, so it's all good.

I just don't find myself with the time to play a lot of games these days, on account of being busy with school, and not having 3 hour blocks of time to sit down and play a game.

Plus, I'm spending most of my $ these days on Magic cards, and the games I do have are a bit stale after being played so many times.

So it appears that I was incorrect, at least in time estimation. Last weekend I played TTT2 for about an hour, and that's all the gaming I've done for the past month+. I checked out the PS4 conference and was really only somewhat interested in the inFAMOUS sequel, because I loved the other, but I have no desire to get a PS4 or a Vita or a 3DS or a Wii U or any other systems.

I can understand both of these. I don't usually have money, and when I do I prefer to spend it on other junk. I've beaten almost all the games in my house, and the ones I haven't are my brother's shooters, which I have no desire to play.

I do, however, love seeing games in action. I like seeing fans get hyped for stuff and discuss and start rumors. I like to hear devs talk about the ideas that went into making their games, early ideas that were scrapped, secrets they've put in for savvy fans, contemplating the future of the industry, etc.

Maybe I'm just ready to start tryna make games myself (although I would need a boatload of learning and cash for that).

Or maybe I've become too sexy for gaming

The other thing is that gaming as it currently exists has largely moved away from what I prefer (i.e. Eastern-style RPG's and similar). Now, most of the big-name games are FPS, sports games, and Western-style RPG's, and I don't much care for any of them.

I can see that too, although my favorite genre is by far fighting games, and (thankfully) those have been kinda "resurrected" lately from the fighting game renaissance. I do see that those kinds of RPGs aren't the big ones anymore, with most being on handhelds. Guess it kinda just comes with the tech advancement and demographic change.

Another issue is how "stale" games have become. I mean, the industry's in a place where you can find any kind of game that you want, really, and enjoy it, so no complaints there, but the majority of games seem to want to appeal to as many people as possible, cashing in on trends and sequels, and also the graphics department. With how that plays out, a lot of games start to feel the same on some level, and that can get pretty tiring.

I was quickly searching through some stuff and I found this project called Overgrowth. Has anyone ever heard of it?

I can't get to Youtube on account of a **** internet connection, so I can't check the link.

However, I definitely agree on one point - Graphics are very much overrated by the mainstream gamer's eyes, as well as the industry that caters to them. For me, music is far more important than visual appeal. And a good musical score is one of the things Legaia (and the sequel, given that I've listened to the music via the soundtrack upload on this site) does exceedingly well.

I think the only real Eastern RPG's left are Final Fantasy and Pokemon, and the latter isn't even a super great example of the genre. Heck, I can't think of that many off the top of my head in the last couple years - only Paper Mario 4 and Pokemon come to mind immediately.

I've have a 3DS for almost a month, and I'm probably only a couple hours into Dream Drop Distance.

I have decided to ignore all this new shtuff in favor of games I can actually afford that actually interest me because I'm turning into an old fart and becoming jaded toward new explosiony games that really aren't the problem, since I am
