"How's the Synchronizer?" a gravelly voice asked via communicator. Frank Eagles, A.K.A. Twin, tapped a finger on his earpiece, eyes locked on the sight below him. He crouched down, resting his arms on his knees and thighs.
"Not a scratch on it."
"And the biker?"
Twin tapped a button on the lens over his eye. The clear screen dimly lit up, and a circular target reticle hovered over the crash sight below. After a few seconds, it beeped, revealing the results. "Still alive. Unconscious. Slight physical damage, but nothing permanent. Hm..."
"What is it?"
Twin stood up from his crouching position, folding his arms over his chest. He looked back towards the city, over his shoulder. "The Synchronizer hooked up to his DNA. He's sharing the same energy flow as it."
"Wh-what?!? What the the the the the does that even mean? Invest-"
"Can't," Twin responded, turning away from the crash site and dashing off towards Los Angeles. "Going after the guys who crashed into him. Besides...your time is up."
"But-"

Alley outside Angels Apartment Building #9
9:30 PM
Carter leaned against the wall of the alley, dusting off his jacket. His eyes scoped the area left and right, but saw no one.
"Gotta be in here somewhere," the immortal muttered to himself. "Hm..."
Carter walked down the length of the alley, his boots echoing in the small chasm. There were boxes stacked up against the wall to his right, and a cat nestled on top of them. He kicked one of them over, but only saw scrap metal inside. He shook his head and marched down to the end of the alley, throwing open the lid of the dumpster.
"What's this..." he whispered, picking up a tiny steel box. His hands moved around its surface. He turned it around, eyes widening as he saw the familiar gas mask logo carved into the box. "Bingo."
Carter looked over his shoulder, making sure no one was watching. He closed the lid of the dumpster and leaped on top of it. From there, he jumped up to the fire escape and sat down, resting the box on his lap.
He extended his index finger, and a small lick of flames darted into the small hole at the front of the box, just as the previous ones he found had. Like usual, the box opened to reveal a single folded note.
"The enemy
lurks in the depths. No
access save for Youth No.
999. Follow the Earth's pawn
to any area"
Carter knitted his eyebrows, rereading the note over and over. This had been the fourth that he had found, and it was easily the most difficult to interpret. What did it mean?
"'Lurks in the depths....' What? Hm... underground...'Youth No.999'. What the the the the the does that mean?"
--------- CARTER DECISION ---------
Carter has found the fourth note on his trail, yet it is even more cryptic than before. He's decided to start with finding this 'Youth No.999,' but where should he start searching?

So the hidden SNSD stuff is
Youth no. 999 = Express 999
And
Alley outside Angels Apartment #9 = SNSD <3333
Gotta make them harder than that >:P

George sighed, feeling the effects of nervousness creeping into his chest. What did she want? Why was she being so...so...cryptic and secretive about it? If it was so important, shouldn't he get all of the story?
Regardless, George agreed to play. He was not sure what the Earth wanted, but he had to give it a try. For a few moments, he considered a song. The first that popped into his head ended up being his choice. If it was the first that came to mind, surely that was his best choice for what was right...
Right?
As he played the song, George's brow began to form sweat. His breathing slowed down and became heavy. None of it interfered with the actual playing of the song, but still his anxiety did not cease to end.
The Earth was silent the entire time. That was what made the experience more painful for him.
And still George continued to strum, eyes locked on his fingers. Was it working? What was this going to do? Did he pick the right song? The song finally ended, and George exhaled, almost choking. He bit his lip, waiting for the Earth's response.
Again that terrifying silence.
George...
George held his breath.
That was...not what I was hoping for...
George felt his heart sink into his stomach.
But it will have to do. Close your eyes...

The moonlight stung his eyes as he tried to open them, and his forearm shot up to protect them from the pain. Damien groaned as his body began to awaken, the pain of the motorcycle crash registering. He was lying on his back, and he could smell smoke.
What had happened? He struggled until his eyes could finally stay open. He remembered...fleeing from his brother. Yes, that was it...And then what? They had slammed into his bike, and he flew right off the road, and he crashed...he crashed into...generators?
That was it. There was a fenced-in system of generators and other machinery that he had crashed into. He had made the mistake of riding out of range of the city, and he had paid the price.
Damien groaned again before rolling onto his side, ready to get up. He could feel pain in his ribs, stomach, and legs. He spat on the ground as he got to his knees. He leaned back to stand up, but suddenly fell back down.
Confused, he tried to stand once again, but to only get the same result. For some reason, his arms didn't move. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he narrowed them and traced the line down his arms.
His hands were shoved into one of the generators.
Panicking for a brief instance, Damien jumped back, but with his hands stuck inside, he just fell onto the ground a third time. He tugged on his arms as hard as he could manage, but to no avail.
Upon closer inspection, however, Damien was even more perplexed. It hadn't been as he thought it did...no...His hands hadn't broken into the machine in any way. No, it seemed more like...
His hands...were the generators?
Damien shook his head, throwing that thought out. He gave himself a few more moments to think more clearly before gazing upon the sight once again. There were no holes or anything where his wrists met the generator. It was a smooth transition, in fact.
Taking a deep breath, Damien focused on his hands and getting them free. It was a weird thought to him, but it was all he had. He slowly pulled his hands back, and...
It worked. His hands were perfectly fine.
Raising an eyebrow, Damien slowly moved one hand back into the generator, in the same spot he had touched before. To his surprise, the hand flowed smoothly into the thing, almost like going through water. However, as he did so, small sparks of white and black electricity jumped from his hand to the generator. The sparks appeared again as he pulled the hand back out.
"What the f-" Damien began. He stopped as his eyes adjusted to the point in which they could make out letters on the side of the machine. "7-9-8-9 SYNCHRONIZER" he read. "the the the the is this thing?"
Having had enough of the place for now, Damien slowly got to his feet, dusting himself off and moaning as he stretched. His eyes kept glancing back at the odd machine. What was that all about?
Deciding to forget about it, Damien located his motorcycle, relieved to see that the thing could still start. He exhaled again before heading back to the city to get some sleep.

Sarah's Neighborhood
4:15 PM
Sarah nearly fainted upon seeing the dog talk, but she was caught by Aoka, and it was enough to keep her conscious. The dog actually groaned as he helped push her to her feet.
"Corgis may be cute, Miss Sarah," Aoka said, panting and sitting on the sidewalk to face Sarah. "But these little bodies and stubby legs don't work well for physical labor, I'm afraid."
"Wh-wh-wh-wh-wh-" Sarah stuttered, slowly backing up from the dog, chest heaving up and down.
What on Earth was going on?
"I'm so sorry," Aoka apologized, letting out a whine. "But there's no easy way for us Guardians to reveal ourselves to you humans. At least you didn't pick a bear or even a dragon or something. That'd be a little bit harder to swallow."
Sarah was still speechless. Aoka walked up to her, sitting beside her. Unfortunately, the friendly gesture was met with confusion and fear as Sarah pushed herself away, keeping the odd dog at a distance.
At that point, Sarah didn't know what to do. The boy...the leash...the talking dog...
What was all of this about?
--------- SARAH DECISION ---------
The talking dog still baffles Sarah. He doesn't seem dangerous, but...what should she do?
A) Sit there and let him talk
B) Ask him questions
C) Call your parents
D) Run away
