Yeah they really arent't. Similar to Final Fantasy, really, although some of them have gotten sequels (Symphonia for one)

Y'all should play Xenogears if you haven't already. Characters and story are fantastic, and there are MECHS

The battle system is pretty similar to Legaia. It's faster, but also a little less exciting until you get to the bigger Deathblows

The three stage boss before the final boss in FFVI is perhaps the single greatest sprite in the in the SNES era. The game deserves it own thread.
