Marcus Fenix is a terribly bland character
Master Chief is bland as well though

Re: Guinness's Top 50 Video Game Characters of All Time
Nico is the typical character that all grand theft auto games have. He's got no unique characteristics. Lara Croft is just overrated. And neither of those have a good history/story to why they are the way they are.MJZuproc_II wrote: Lara and Nico are better and much better than Marcus

Just realized we've been spelling "Niko" wrong >____>K73SK wrote:Nico is the typical character that all grand theft auto games have. He's got no unique characteristics.MJZuproc_II wrote: Lara and Nico are better and much better than Marcus

I don't like defending GTAIV since I'm not a fan myself, but Niko is definitely better than Marcus (though he's still too high as well. Wouldn't put him on the list at all).
Niko is easily the most developed/well-rounded/whatever fluff adjective hero of GTA (not that the heroes are anything to brag about). He's definitely different from them - he has more of a character. CJ...Tommy...Vic...none of them even seem to have been attempted to be anywhere near as good as Niko. He actually has a personality and isn't merely a stereotype gangsta or anything. Even in the beginning when he first comes to America and how naive he is...it's great.
He's not a standout character as far as games go, imo, but he stomps on the rest of the GTA protagonists, Master Chief, Lara, and Marcus.
How so? lol the only thing anyone ever mentions about Lara is how hot she is. But still, better than Marcus imo.Lara Croft is just overrated.
While she's nothing special, neither is Marcus. Dom was better.
Disagree with that assumption targeted to Niko, but agree with Lara. Tomb Raider stories were nothing special, and neither is Lara's character. GTA doesn't have a great story either, but it does explain Niko excellently. And neither of those have a good history/story to why they are the way they are.
Gears of War doesn't have a good story either

Re: Guinness's Top 50 Video Game Characters of All Time
I don't like that the Prince of Persia from 1980 something is on this list; extremely bland.
The more recent ones like Sands of Time, and Two Thrones were excellent! Warrior Within was horrid (though it had its reasons) and Forgotten Sands was kinda bland as well.

I think they just listed the game the character debuted inredhollowlives999 wrote:I don't like that the Prince of Persia from 1980 something is on this list; extremely bland.
I decided to just rearrange the list they have in the order I would put the characters based on...how much I like them >___>
*NOTE: Goku, Naruto, ASH KETCHUM, and Pikachu (Pikachu was no special character in the original Pokemon games, only the anime really) were eliminated from this list because they were BS choices in the first place

I think the problem with making a list like this is that they just end up listing 50 popular game characters and then putting Mario and Link at the top
I think it'd be better if people just wrote "My Top 50 Favorite Video Game Characters of All Time" or something instead. That way there'd be WAAAAAAY more variety rather than a popular game hero/villain roll call
I shall now get to work on mine
