Rim Elm and its wall
I made this on the terrible gamefaq site a while back regarding the wall around Rim Elm:
The wall doesn't go around the entire perimeter, it's southern side is exposed. Why isn't the mist going into the town? It's not like the mist can't travel over water. If I recall there is a single wooden wind-mill near the beach..... but I highly doubt a single shoddy looking wind-mill is going to protect from the mist.
discuss!

Re: Rim Elm and its wall
Great question, but it's actually revealed in the game why it doesn't enter the village. I included it to my first paragraph on the Rim Elm Page: http://legendoflegaia.net/legend_of_leg ... imelm.htmldeadly virus wrote:I made this on the terrible gamefaq site a while back regarding the wall around Rim Elm:

I can't remember who exactly states it in the village, but I believe it was the Village Elder. I'm pretty sure it's said sometime before you leave to venture towards Drake Castle. It's also the reason the hunters can venture outside the walls to hunt. Sometimes the winds from the ocean push the Mist back far enough to keep the Seru from venturing too close. Remember when they said "The Mist came earlier than usual"?The walls surrounding Rim Elm, along with the wind that is pushed from the ocean from dawn till dusk, seem to protect the town from the unwanted Mist outside.

Re: Rim Elm and its wall
What I want to know is was that wall built before the mist came? If so, why? It's a pretty big wall for such a small town. And if they built it after the mist came... how? It's huge!

Re: Rim Elm and its wall
All of these are good questions... I believe the village elder explains that
It was built ruffly about 10years ago... Someone was sent to warn rim elm about the mist but he never made it there...
Every town in legaia has some elemental barrier *except above sea-level octam how are just really far away for some annoying reason*
so it makes sense that rim elm had a wall built... Why just keep a town wide open for monsters or invaders to attack xp

Re: Rim Elm and its wall
Lezam is the messenger of King Drake sent to warn Rim Elm about the mist. As for the wall itself, remember that Rim Elm is on the peninsula. The mist only rarely made it as far as Rim Elm, so for the most part, they were safe. However, sometimes the Mist would encraoch on the village, and the Wall was built to protect them in those scenarios. Also remember that the villagers could leave the village to hunt without too much danger from the Seru (some, of course, as Juno, et. al. experienced), but not so much that it was impossible.
Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.

Re: Rim Elm and its wall
I resent that remark, but I'll let it slide.
Back on topic, I think it's fairly common knowledge that the mist only rarely affects Rim Elm (at least among its residents). I don't think that that one NPC is the only person who knows as much (despite being the only person to mention it).
