Re: Back On Track
i have no clue how far along you are with all of this i didnt feel like going through 25 pages but i had some ideas and figured i'd share them =D
battle system:
i have a few ideas here,
we could turn sort of in the direction of star ocean, not like the same setup's and everything but more of a free moving attack system and set something up where we have a mainly controlled character and the other move based on a set of commands that you give them sorta like ffxii's gambit system or something along the lines of that.
or we could do something else like on ffxii where all three chars move around at once and you can freely attack the enemies on the open map...
i'll have more ideas later on this is just off the top of my head...
as for character and storyline a few more ideas here:
a potential way of bringing back seru would be to initiate the game setting to before the time of cort and the "heroes" of the first legaia...
or in the future...another thing we could do is start the game off with some "mysterous sage" type fellow and have him speak to the main characters about finding some hidden artifact or something of the sort in the world that can use a kind of ritual to bring back the seru-kai and then have the sage turn out to be some evil villain trying to bring back the seru to use them for evil...seems a bit cliche but just a thought
or...
maybe in the destruction of the seru kai the great genesis tree leaves behind a small seedling that managed to make its way back to earth and someone found it and planted it on earth thus rendering the seru and human to emerge in one world altogether.
possibly more ideas on this later
as for the element pool we could have:
earth
fire
water
air
thunder
holy(light)
darkness
nature
"metal" maybe
ice
...ehh more to come
but i also think it would be pretty neat to maybe put in multi-element seru?
as far as seru go i have nothing yet xD
only that i think mount seru wouldn't be too great of an idea, maybe a little faster walk speed through the world but that's it, i mean yeah it gets a little lame with the endless walking but i mean implementing mounts would only make the game go by a bit too fast...UNLESS of course you're planning on making a HUGE game with lots and lots of map. then it may be useful, but i think they made the doors of wind for a reason xD for fast travel you know? and that'd also kind of go along with what EVERY mmorpg has today and idk seems a bit ripped off with all the games that have it idk but it is a good idea if you make an extrememly large map
for the games like muscle dome and coliseum...i never played the second so idk what the coliseum has in it, but it would be nice to have the tournaments and what not, but make the games a bit harder idk, in the regular muscle dome the button game was a bit too easy to rack up coins quickly on.
this is all i can come up with on the top of my head xD hope it helps =]
seru ideas:
i think we should indefinately keep
kemaro
spoons
orb
and puera
kemaro is just plain kickass so i think it'd be a good one to keep
spoons and orb are seemingly the perfect healing seru,
and puera is like the joker of the bunch so i like him xD
we should definately tweak their abilities a tiny bit though
and it would be nice to have some support seru
and an idea for a seru we could have a leprachaun seru that increases a random stat point by a certain % for either x rounds or the whole battle but make it so it doesnt stack
most rpgs have buffer spells
and LoL seemed to just have the (single person) support items
this is all i can come up with on the top of my head xD hope it helps =]

Re: Back On Track
Lol we have discussed a few of these already
No human can bring back the seru. This has been stated by dr. usha.
A seedling wouldnt make a difference, since in the end, they WILL die.
In my opinion, the only way(s) to bring them back is to focus on the gods of legaia:
Teig
And Tohn.
Anything else would seem far fetched.
Yes! Kemaro is arguably the best seru in the game!

Re: Back On Track
The main point that I wanted to get from ya is the battle system. It's something we did discuss in here and it's something that should probably not be changed except to enhance speed of the battle scenes... The way they had the battle system before is what made Legaia stand out for most of us. I mean, if all you did was "click and fight" the entire game, would it really have fascinated you as much as it did? I can tell you now that I'd probably HATE the beginning of the game since it was mostly about battling and learning new skills.

Re: Back On Track
Every veteran hates that K.
Like, PoP players. It gets annoying having to learn about controls all over again.
RAWR!
Maybe we can have some veteran option.

Re: Back On Track
An option that says "here are the moves, go have fun"? No, that defeats the purpose on the game as a game is about facing challenges. If you're a veteran, it'd be no problem picking up on the arts again by memory. The way they had it in legaia was for that purpose. They didn't keep you from learning anything as long as you had enough art blocks for that particular move. A veteran option is pointless.

Re: Back On Track
so is the battle system going to be about the same?
like up - items, left - attack, right - seru(hopefully ^.^), and down - spirit?
along with starting out with x number of arts blocks, and end game roughly 6-9?
with the potential including of variable arts?

Re: Back On Track
No it can't
There isn't any opening for a plot like that.
