Extracting Game Graphics
Extracting Game Graphics
So after I was asked to look into extracting game graphics, I took a look and got halfway successful. Legaia seems to not follow any standards to the T and mess up the image format. Looks like they either put a dummy Palette table in multiple parts of the image (even though it's in the header) or some sort of anti-theft design?
Either way, I have to play with it more because it's not consistent on every image. Once I clean them up though, they look fine.

Okay so I figured it out, it was only because it was a BIN file I ran the program off the disc on my laptop and boom. All Legaia images extracted perfectly.

Can you rip the 3D models?
Re: Extracting Game Graphics
All of the images are there unless it's an animation. Unless you mean the file data means for how to render those 2d graphics into 3d, no, I have not done that.

It's too bad the glyph that shows up during Evil Seru Magic/Dark Eclipse and Mystic Circle is only an animation. Been wanting to get an unobstructed image of that for a while.
Re: Extracting Game Graphics
I might be able to pull it from the VRAM of the playstation during a battle. Haven't tried it yet but I saw most of these graphics get loaded into the VRAM.

I extracted it, but haven't found the correct color palette yet.

Oh heck yes, that's the one. Thanks a lot man. This is like an early Christmas present.
Re: Extracting Game Graphics
It was a temporary link. Long gone now. If demand for it is out there maybe K37SK can host it somewhere.u_name wrote:That link is broken.
