* * * PART FIVE * * *

Uthma rolled the Astral Sword in his fingers, admiring the craftsmanship of the blade. It was astounding. The old sword had survived unharmed for who knew how long, and it saved his life on several occasions. The history of the weapon was jaw dropping. Crafted from the bones of dead Seru...used by the legendary Gaza...battled with Vahn, Noa, and Gala...utilized by Sir Z...and now it helped bring about the defeat of the wicked Sise-Neg.

At the thought of the dead lord of Ratayu, Uthma turned his attention south towards Jeremi. The old Zalan Mafia Tower there was currently being taken down, as the organization had collapsed on itself after the defeat of Zalan's wicked descendant. He then returned his gaze to the north to catch the tip of Mt. Letona. He took pride in knowing the corrupt lord was now slain.

Slain by his own hand. The mercenary glanced down to his Cyber Seru arm. He had feared it early on - even hated it - but it proved itself to be a tool he would not be alive without. He tightened the artificial fingers into a fist, remembering the guardian angel within it - his old Cyber Seru companion, Ulkos.

"You gonna keep standing there or what?"

Uthma shook his head from his contemplation, looking up to see Redhollow sitting on a rock, scythe over his lap. The ninja had an annoyed, restless look on his face, his chin in his palm. Uthma had kept him waiting for a few minutes, and it was beginning to bore him.

"Shut up," Uthma replied, rolling his shoulders and bringing the purple sword in front of him, ready for battle. "Just giving you a few more minutes before I hack you to pieces."

"Tch," came the response. Redhollow hopped onto his feet, adding in a twist in mid-air for flair. He landed gracefully, scythe swinging out. "I beat you the first time we fought. This won't be any different."

Uthma smirked before throwing himself into a rapid dash, eyes locked on three different potential targets he would strike at, given the opportunity.

He hit all three in record time.

He had been focusing on his speed ever since the battle at Ratayu, and it clearly showed. When he was within range, the mercenary swung the Astral Sword in an upward, diagonal slice that struck the underside of the blocking scythe. As the two weapons immediately made contact, he used the momentum from the connection to arc the Astral Sword around into an overhead chop, surprising Redhollow and pressuring him to protect himself as fast as he could. This small opening was the perfect time for Uthma to throw in a sharp kick to the ninja's stomach.

Redhollow gritted his teeth as he stumbled back, twirling his scythe around him so as to keep Uthma from getting in too close. When the strategy worked and gave him a half-second to regain control, he pressed forward, displaying the precision he had mastered since the night of Sise-Neg's defeat. He would target multiple patterns around Uthma and bring either the sharp point or the blunt pole bottom to it with astounding accuracy.

Uthma could feel his strength withering a bit. While he had trained with the Astral Sword day in and day out, it was still a massive weapon that was taxing on his muscles. Nevertheless, he took in a deep breath, exhaling it slowly as he ducked and spun to shift the plane of fighting he and Redhollow were on.

The deadly dance continued for several minutes, but it was far different from their other encounters. They were no longer desperate to kill the other or to flee. Neither was wounded or tired before the fight. Neither had any sort of disadvantage that outweighed their advantages.

They were also much better fighters during that duel. They were not limited to a small arsenal of signature moves and mastered basics. No, they had developed their own styles of fighting that differed from the other in such a way that they ranked equal to each other overall. It was a spectacular balance from two well-known warriors; they were certainly on their way to becoming legends.

Redhollow was starting to succumb to boredom once again, and he desired to change the pace of their fighting. He made the risky move of planting his scythe in the ground and drawing his katana from the scabbard behind him. Uthma did not fail to notice that the end of the scythe was still chained to Uthma's wrist. He smirked not only at the sneaky tactic, but also to take pleasure in knowing that he caught the trick, whereas he once would've failed to register it in his mind.

The katana was fast, but Uthma managed to be even faster; his legs anyway. The Astral Sword was used mainly for defense when Redhollow's katana was brought out, but Uthma was not fazed. He calmly blocked the incoming slashes, keeping the corner of his eye on the scythe and the chain extending from it as Redhollow moved forward.

It was now Redhollow's time to smile. He had noticed Uthma's glance at the scythe; in fact his plan was reliant on Uthma doing so. As he pressed forward, moving Uthma backwards, he would shake his left foot a little at a time, slowly loosening the hidden knife inside. The two took a few more steps forward, and the shine of the silver blade glistening in the sunlight was Redhollow's cue.

The next attack was one Uthma expected. Redhollow yanked with his right arm, pulling the scythe from the ground a few yards back. He had stopped walking forward in order to get a good range of attack. The scythe circled around, swinging towards Uthma's left.

Uthma grinned as he heaved the Astral Sword into the air, tip pointing downward. He slammed the blade into the ground before rolling to the side. Redhollow's scythe chain was caught on the purple blade, and instead of arcing around in a full circle, it wrapped around the blade several times before stopping, having used up the length of the chain.

As the scythe wrapped around the Astral Sword, Redhollow dashed towards Uthma, drawing the knife in his boot. He muttered something under his breath, and the blade was encapsulated in fire. He smirked, knowing Uthma was not familiar with this technique. None were. Only Redhollow and the writer of the book he had read it from.

The writer being Gi Delilas.

Uthma wasted no time after his roll, activating the flaming aura around his fist and whipping around. He was surprised at the flaming knife in Redhollow's hand, but he did not hesitate. Instead, he took a deep breath, leaping high into the air, Cyber Seru arm crossed in front of him. He roared into the air as loud as he could...

"FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE! BLOOOOOOOOW!"

* * * EPILOGUE * * *

Ian managed to fully recover from his injuries, though he did give up fighting for good. He went on to help with the taking down of the Zalan Mafia Tower, and saved up enough gold to pay for formal training at the newly-repaired Uthma Research Center. He quickly rose through the ranks, using his memory of Uthma's Cyber Seru arm to push the industry forward. Within a few years, he became the head of the entire Research Center. Within two decades of the start of his career, he ushered in a Legaian Renaissance.

Lady Ailee and her Hunters helped repair the damage caused by Sise-Neg, visiting all over Legaia in order to provide assistance. Because of her combat skill, military genius, and her loyal Hunters, she was recognized by all three major kingdoms as best-suited to lead a world-wide military defense force to prevent another organization like the Zalan Mafia from rising again.

Wendy decided to give up her goal of becoming a mercenary, having had enough fighting for her life. Instead she settled into Jeremi, caring for the beautiful Sky Garden. She had a statue of Uthma, herself, K73SK, Elena, Redhollow, Mr. Virus, and Raive constructed on the roof of the tower, and it became a popular visiting monument. Not long afterwards, she and Redhollow got married and settled a few miles away from Vidna.

Elena, on the other hand, was not quite done with fighting just yet. She ventured into the world, eventually settling into Sol. She took an immediate interest in the Muscle Dome, and within a day she became the arena champion. She kept that title up until her retirement.

Redhollow actually won his duel with Uthma, although the pain he had felt in the final moments was enough for him to decide to retire and settle down as well. At first he relocated to Vidna and made weapons - studying the Astral Sword with Uthma's permission - and developed a very profitable company from it. He was always bombarded with young warriors wishing to learn from him, and because of it, he wrote several fighting technique books that sold millions of copies. He eventually settled down with Wendy.

Uthma was disappointed as his loss to Redhollow, but soon forgot about it as he was heralded as a hero to Legaians everywhere. Because of this, he traveled the world, teaching young fighters and inspiring citizens all over the globe. In his later adulthood, he was elected to become the new lord of Ratayu, and he accepted. Unlike Sise-Neg, he was a very kind and wise ruler, leading the nation and the Sebucus Islands into a long prosperity.

As the rest of the world continued to age without an ounce of conflict, Mr. Virus decided to make camp underneath Ratayu - making sure Uthma above could not access the dark dungeon. Inside, he had hundreds of Cyber Seru programmers create him an army of Juggernauts - ones that could move and fight to a far better effectiveness than Sise-Neg's.

He took over the world and could not be stopped.
