Hmm, Are we sure of the meaning? Sometimes a different world could simply mean a different time period? I know its a longshot but its not out of the question. If you took someone on Earth from 100 years ago, and placed them in the present, they would look at the world as being not their own, too.

I really don't think he'd be using figurative language in an interview asking about the game's story. When you want to advertise a game or let the public know what to expect, you've gotta be clear and to the point. It wouldn't make sense to have Duel Saga take place on the same world anyway, with the way Arisawa said it. They're both called continents called 'Legaia', which he made clear. But he stressed they were in different worlds. If they were just in separate time periods, the continent would have had some similarities in shape/size, overall geography. But if you compare both world maps you see that they're entirely different in look.

Additionally, I don't think a Japanese man with English as a second language would be speaking in a figurative sense. The literal and more direct interpretation is best, in my opinion.

I think they whored it. They wanted the game to sell so they used the name of a previous game to make it slightly more popular. The only thing similar about the two was the fighting style. So the fact that they are in other worlds doesn't surprise me at all

Confirming that they are in different worlds is the reason I don't want (a potential) Legaia 3 to try linking the 2 games together. They had nothing to do with each other.

yeah the 2 games should stay in their seperate worlds the only way i think they should be linked, and i thought they shoulda done this in duel saga, is having an arcade fighting game like baka fighter staring the characters from the other world's legaia.
