I'm saving the Ryuu vs. Kimura fight. Iz gon be hype, I can tell. I like both characters and I'm really okay with either winning though I know Mashiba already wins; I'm pretending I don't know this.

Kimura shoulda won. I get the utilization of Aokimura as joke characters, but that fight was great and it woulda been nice'ta see Kimura take the victory, 'specially since he doesn't get the "complete fool and comic relief" draw that Aoki does.

How 'bout young Mamakunouchi.

She was (and arguably still is) a bae. I liked the whole thing with Ippo's dad too. Really helped with development, and I got to see a side of Ippo I wasn't expecting to ever see, really.

I really dug Umezawa's story. I'm partial'ta works that explore the creative process, so I enjoyed his whole manga thing. Great character.

It's one of my favorite things about him. He's probably progressed the most on a personal level besides Ippo, IMO. He went from bullying Ippo to respecting him to the bone, and Ippo never had to lay a hand on him. It was great.
