Jaded Otaku

Does anyone else feel like they were once big into anime, and then as time goes on and we get older, anime becomes increasingly intolerable?

I feel like a grumpy old man, but almost every anime I try to watch since my late 20s has just been annoying and boring to me. I feel like I had some rose-tinted glasses in my formative years where I really latched on to anime and probably overlooked a lot of flaws, and perhaps now I'm seeing it for how it truly is. Or, maybe I'm just impatient now for long arcs, and maybe I'm just not the target audience... Still, there are a handfull that stand the test of time. I'll always say Cowboy Bebop is my personal favorite and it has aged well.

lol yeah it's kind of hard to find a good anime that I can enjoy anymore. I've been working on Gintama and have maybe 30-40 episodes before I hit the last one that's out right now. But yup.. Seems most of them have very similar plots.
