Hate Uru Mais? Skip the dream cutscenes!

First, a short video of the glitch in action: https://clips.twitch.tv/PlacidSeductiveTarsierPMSTwin

This is the first real beneficial use of the so-called incense glitch. The way this works is that if the 'Incense's effectiveness has run out' textbox appears right as you hit a loading zone, the loading zone effect gets cancelled out, and you can wander through out of bounds.

Here's an example of this: https://clips.twitch.tv/FaintGiftedPeanutKAPOW

It turns out, that by setting up your movement to trigger incense glitch in the three paths leading to the dream rooms, you can walk past the trigger that starts the dreams, and hit the trigger in the back that says that the dream is finished. (Strangely, both triggers exist on the same map.)

It's also possible to skip the scene where Uru Mais is being destroyed by Juggernaut, but it's currently unknown what will happen when you return to Uru Mais to go to Noaru Valley. There may be some sort of reverse-time glitch based on event flags that will set the game to a previous state of completion, something very bad for a speedrunner!

Anyway, there are some setups to do the glitch. For each setup, you'll use an incense as soon as you enter the long hallway room from the outside. Then, you'll walk straight Left, Right, Up, or Down as appropriate through each hallway turn, always hitting the far wall when running, until you hit the membranous flap into the dream room.

Then, after hitting the flap, you'll walk due left and right against the walls back and forth a number of times to set up, then run toward the event trigger. If successful, the incense will run out at the precise time and you'll be able to skip the dream.

Vahn walks back and forth 49 times (walk Left (1), then right (2), and so forth until you count to 49, then walk straight up).

Noa does so 51 times, and then takes a fraction of a step further past 51.

Gala goes 17 times, and then on the 18th pass, stops just short of the wall.

We tested always starting by going left, so you should probably do the same.

And it's wise to test on your own console - this was done on emulator, so there may be slight emulation inaccuracies or console quirks to be aware of. Just note that it is possible.
Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.

Here's some better / more accurate setups, and a tutorial video for this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXy0EEXC0Mo
