Alright guys I have a video uploaded that shows how to catch multiple Octobans easily and eventually hook a Baraba.
Also be warned it's quite laggy; my computer just isn't powerful enough to do a good recording.

Cool. I've never been able to catch either of those. They must be a bit rare.

Watching you catch the fish has already drastically improved my catching experience.
In short, the pattern seems to be: "Yank the rod to the right, then reel, then yank it all the way to the left and reel, and repeat as necessary"
There's a certain rhythm to it that doesn't involve mashing buttons, but it's fairly quick. Does that sound about right?

Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.

Re: FishingforBaraba
Well I think there's a trick to where if the fish is swimming one way you want to have your rod pulled a certain way. I don't know exactly what it is and it's hard to tell since the fish change directions so much but I find some success in moving my rod certain ways. Like especially if the fish is heading straight out away from you then you want to change how you're pulling your rod and usually it will change the fish's direction or make it come towards you. I think this is the key to make sure the fish doesn't go out there like I think its around 44 M where your line auto breaks because it's too far out.
Or are you talking about getting the "Good" before you hook the fish? Ya it's just right X left Square for that and if you get the "Good" on left square it's like a 80% chance you catch something right then and almost guaranteed it's a rare fish.
Also to reply to Goldenpower- Baraba are definitely rare but with this fishing trick you should be able to hook one every 15 minutes or so if you do it right. Octoban..they can be rare without the fishing trick I guess but they are like 80-90% catch rate with the trick. Legendary Rod, Heavy lure, Vidna fishing hole.

Re: FishingforBaraba
Well, I was talking about hooking the fish in the first place, not necessarily just reeling him in.
And I think it usually breaks for me around 47 M. I hooked an absolutely massive fish (possibly a large or XL Baraba?) and it basically just ate the line for breakfast like it was nothing. I feel that it's generally best to move the rod toward the fish (if it's going to one side or the other), and then jerking it back really quickly.

Re: FishingforBaraba
Here's a video catching 3 Devourers in a row, probably could've done more but I'm not a fan of reeling in Devourers. I plan to update my Baraba video now that I can record without lag(less lag anyways) but no guarantee when that will be.

This is actually a better video
