Did anyone else sequence break during the game?

While the game's usually very linear, I did skip ahead a bit once. I remember that after I failed to beat Berserker several times during my first playthrough, I decided to leave for Vidna to get better equipment and then went to Octam to get the Orb spell. Orb's ability to heal everyone at once makes the battle pathetic as long as you're at a decent level.

But how many people do you think went all the way to Octam and grinded for Orb before fighting Berserker on their first playthrough?

Anyway, I really like the Sebucus Islands. If not being able to get into Ratayu because of the steam coming from the ground and then being able to because of Xain later isn't awesome plot build up, then I don't know what is.

I've done this myself just to see what happens - to see if there was some kind of crazy thing that goes on like "NO DON'T GO THURR!!" but nothing came as a real surprise, to be honest...Except what Sise-Neg said.

And yeah, Ratayu + steam = can't get through, but Ratayu + ice + xain = access...Definitely a great plot build up in my opinion!

I can't remember what I did on my first playthrough completely but I do remember several times getting stuck on a boss and goin gsomewhere else to get better equipment and more experience. I usually try to change my strategy these days but I still do that from time to time.
