Final Fantasy (and any other RPGs) Topic!
Re: Final Fantasy (and any other RPGs) Topic!
Currently "playing" FF3, and I totally blanked out on the character names (Sans Refia) when I was trying to think of them.
Because they were uninteresting or something.

My beef with ff3 is that it is exactly like ff1 but with more jobs. Oh yeah, and it has one random こし IMPOSSIBLE boss in it I haven't been able to beat. I have replayed this game millions of times and everytime I do, I always get stuck at that Robert of a boss.
On another note, I have replayed ff12. I realized that the reason that I hated the LP system is because I was too immature to truely understand it. In the replay, I am enjoying it much more. I still am not a HUGE fan because the story was complete donkey 質, but, gameplay wasn't the worse of the FF series.
So, I heard a awesome joke. They shouldn't call Final Fantasy 13 "Final Fantasy", they should call it Final Hallway 13. xD Hilarious

XII is pretty fun to play, but, like you said, the story and characters are pretty boring. Only exceptions for me are pretty much Balthier and Gabranth.
Lightning Returns...actually looks okay. Not gonna buy it or anything, but it doesn't look bad.

Balthier is in fact my favorite character. He boss yo!
Also, this is a holy zone, guarded by Alexander himself, I believe the evil that is ff13 pt.3 shall not again be mentioned.

I know Arc, and Lenneth or Luneth or something. I cannot for the life of me remember who the blonde guy is.van wrote:Currently "playing" FF3, and I totally blanked out on the character names (Sans Refia) when I was trying to think of them.

Luneth, Arc, Refia, and Ingus are only made up for the remake version. The original FF3 on NES had no named characters. They're just random kids who become Onion Kids. If you really want to talk about hard, play the NES version. I couldn't beat it for years until I finally used an emulator and cheated. =(

Had no idea they made up names for the remake. Could you name the characters like you did in FF1 or Onion Kid 1, 2, 3 and Onion girl?CloakedDeception wrote:Luneth, Arc, Refia, and Ingus are only made up for the remake version. What makes the NES version more difficult than the DS version?
Re: Final Fantasy (and any other RPGs) Topic!
I haven't played ff3 on the nes but I have played ff1 on it and my god it was difficult. I had trouble beating the very first enemy!

They gave them names so each character can have a background story and also to make the characters less generic, I guess. In the NES version, the 4 "main characters" are just like the ones from FF1, only younger: just 4 random kids who apparently are destined to save the world for no reason.
The NES version is harder cuz the enemies have more HP and they give less EXP, making it very hard to grind. Then there's the whole final dungeon thing that's super long with crazy hard enemies and NO save point at all...

FF3, DS version also doesn't have any save points. The only places you save are on the world map.
