xD Well I've been working on leveling up my party for about 10 years now. I still have the save on my memory card, but I haven't really played it in a long time. I named my characters after characters from Teen Titans, including my OC. :V But they're all three over level 60.

For whatever it matters, I play on a (-n old, fat model) PS2. There's a lot of lag on it, though. If it plays particularly faster on a PS1, that could be critical for speedrunning.
Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.

I don't see much lag on my PS1, unless the game is scratched or I play for a long time (3 hours +).

Yeah my copy lags horribly on a fat PS2... I noticed this when I was a kid and while I played it on my friend's fat PS2. Though my disc is pretty scratched, and there were times where my PS1 couldn't even read it properly, resulting in random glitches during battles. (Especially when Viguro would use Thunder Break, or when Terra would heal Noa in battle. There would be random sound glitches, it was quite comical. xD I remember once before my game messed up during the Muscle Dome while I was playing on Beginner... Right when the game was loading the battle it froze and all of a sudden I heard what sounded like some attack, then Vahn, Noa, and Gala's death cries right after. And finally the voice clip ended with some random female laugh that I didn't recall ever hearing in the game. :V Though these glitches don't occur now since I play it on a Silver PS2 slim...)

I play on PS3 now but I did my last runs (when I wrote the walkthrough) on laggy PS2 and Emulator (better). I use emulator a lot now though for debugging and answering questions since I have save states all over the place for different testing reasons.
The lag in battle is horrible, because the PS2 can't emulate the PS1 correctly on the shadow effects that occur on every hyper art and some magics. I was sooooo happy when I could emulate it on computer without that effect and the sound matches up
