Legend of Legaia .iso + emulator instructions

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
If you are interested in retrieving the ISO file for Legend of Legaia, read the notice below, and private message me with a request to the link. You must be a member and have at least 25 posts to the forums before being allowed to obtain the ISO. Upon pm'ing me, you agree that you read the note below in the large red font, and you agree that you will not share the link with anyone else.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

----The ISO file is now ready to be given out----

For awhile, people have been trying to find their ways to get the game of Legend of Legaia working on their computer. It's not that it's a difficult task, but it's hard to find an .iso file for many people, hard to install an emulator, etc. I have made an option for the public to finally play this game on their computers, but within legal reasons of course.

So before you read the tutorial read the following legal note, as I am by no reason supporting piracy of any kind through Legendoflegaia.net:

You can ONLY download the file for the .iso game if you already own the video game of Legend of Legaia. If you do not own the game and have no legal rights in downloading the game for free, I am not at fault for your illegal downloading of the video game. I strongly encourage that you own the game before grabbing the iso file from the site. The iso file for Legend of Legaia is only on the website for backup purposes - to those who want to keep their original disks clean without use. All disks in existence have a lifespan on them, and it's easily understandable for those who do not want to hit that limit with their classic Legend of Legaia disk. So please, again, only download this game if you have legal rights to do so. The owner and staff of LegendofLegaia.net have no responsibility for anyone who does so otherwise. By downloading the iso file, you agree and adhere to this policy.

Now, that that's out of the way, let's begin.

First, you're going to need an emulator that can even run the game. For the PS1 emulator, I recommend using ePSXe 1.7.0. Here's a link: http://www.epsxe.com/files/epsxe170.zip

Make a folder somewhere on your computer, anywhere you want. In that folder, extract all the files in the zip file of epsxe to that folder. Now run ePSXe 1.7.0.

For those of you who get an error saying, "Cannot find Zlib1.dll", download the file here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/libp ... p?download and place it in the root directory of wherever you put epsxe.

After that, you'll need a BIOS file to put into the BIOS folder for the emulator. I cannot distribute the BIOS file, however, since it's 100% illegal to do so. You'll need to create your own, which you can learn how to do by going to the epsxe website.

After grabbing the BIOS file, simply move it to the bios/ folder in the emulator's folder. So it should be something like: "emulator/bios/SCPH1001.BIN"

Now, we have the necessary files. We just need another program. It's called Daemon Tools! It's completely free, and can be downloaded from here: http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon

It's relatively easy to install. If you're having trouble, google how to do it and if you're still having trouble, just reply to the thread and I'll try and help you out.

You will have to restart the computer to completely install (it'll request it)Daemon Tools. But once you've got that installed and you're ready to go with it, you'll see an icon in the bottom right corner of your taskbar with a lightning bolt in a circle. Left click it and you'll see a blank drive to use, which you can click on that as well. Now, you'll need the Legend of Legaia ISO file, which can only be downloaded if you request it from me and have more than 5 posts. Find the ISO file in the browse option and double click it. You now have the ISO file "mounted" on your disk drive.

Go back to the emulator, and click config--->Cdrom, It should be on the one that says "ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.7.0" which is fine. Click "Configure" and select the drive letter that your legend of legaia ISO file is mounted to. After that, click OK until you're back in the main program.

Next, it's time to configure video. You'll need a video plugin, and I recommend the one I uploaded to the website: http://www.legendoflegaia.net/emulator_ ... penGL2.dll -- Now, take that file and move it to your "plugins" folder. Open the emulator, one more time (I promise no more programs or files to download) and click config --> Video. Open the drop down menu and select the new plugin (Pete's Opengl2 2.9). Click configure and you can set your resolution, for if you're not into the whole full screen stuff...And if you know what the rest of the options mean - then play with them. Warning, though - you may mess up your frame limit and all that with these settings, causing the game to go unstable. I recommend only using the configuration to edit the resolution.

Now, click Config --> Sound, just to make sure you have "ePSXe SPU core 1.7.0" selected, with the check box "sound enabled."

To finally begin playing the game, click File --> Run CDROM ----- Note: it'll only work if you have the game mounted to the drive and the Cdrom plugin selected on that drive. If you're getting errors or the game isn't loading, ensure you have the correct settings set!!!

Enjoy playing the game, and hopefully everything works well for you!!!!

I'm not sure if it's the 1.7.0 or the video plugin (I thought I already used OpenGL 2.9) but Legaia's battles run much better with this setup! Almost completely glitch free. There is still a small sound glitch where sounds are played twice. If anyone manages to fix this setting, please post!

Unfortunately I didn't have any problem like that. Try playing with different sound plugins to see if you can resolve the issue since the gameplay itself is playing smoothly.

For anyone else who has the same issue, I used an earlier version of ePSXe to get past it. I think it was ePSXe152. Just transfer the save file, get past the mirror, transfer back and you're good to go.

I find it hilarious no one owns an original PS1 AND LEGEND OF LEGAIA. I don't know how emulators work.
Names are for friends, so I don't need one.

Uh... I own one.

And if you don't know how to work the emulator, read the first post in this topic.

So I used this version of ePSXe and set it up and whatnot but when I go to run my Legaia file "eboot.PBP" it doesn't show up where it's at so I can't play it...Doing this to get past the Conkram mirror part.

Update: I just found an ISO online and finally resolved this problem..My biggest question now is do I have to do it again to get back through the mirror to the present.
