Honey

Ok, so this topic's mostly a question to almighty meth962, but I'll ask in case anyone else here knows.

The biggest thing about the "honey" in Legaia is that it seems to be a waste to give it to Nene. However, what if there's something we don't know about when giving it to Nene? Is there a variable that's changed immediately (besides her dialogue right there and then) upon giving her the Honey? It'd be awesome to find out if possible :3

Yes, there is a flag that is set if you give it to Nene. I thought it was only for allowing you to go back and get the Honey again, but now I'm curious if it IS used for something. One way to find out is to give her the Honey and put a breakpoint on that flag and see if the game ever reads it. Like when you're in the Bio Castle or something.

I've wondered this myself. I always go all Pooh Bear on the honey and never give it Nene.

How the the the the the did I not see the notification for your reply lol.

Anyway... do you mean to keep the breakpoint on there and then play throughout the game and see if it stops the game to check the flag? Cause that's a lot of work :D but I guess it's something I should give a try some day, huh?

If there is something, it would probably be in the credits, if anything.

If you re-acquire the honey later, is that flag still "active"?

Yup, that's exactly what I would do. That way I know if the game ever even cares about it or if it was intended for something and never put in the game. I would think it was for when you get to Nene later in the Bio Castle and she gives you the mettle goblet instead of it randomly hiding in a wall : /

And no, if you give the honey to Nene, the flag is 03, if you go back and get the honey again it is 02, for instance. So there is a difference. They could have just unset the flag for "losing" it to Nene which would enable you to get it again so that makes me think they intended it to have a purpose at some point.

Well, maybe this Christmas break when I go to do some work on the site, I'll try to learn that debugger for the psx emulator and give it a shot. We'll see! Although probably not since the work I intend on doing is actually working on programming the new site, not making updates.... It'd be better to finish making the new site and then make updates/fixes with easy 2-3 clicks lol

If I didn't have another big project, I would be trying it. Unfortunately, I have been devoting my little time to doing the same treasure/switches/memory discovery that I did with Legaia on Tales of Symphonia. Some friends and I have been playing it for 10 years and thought we were done this time but nope...99.6% treasure, argh! So I demanded answers :P I'm ripping that game apart and I already found the item we missed, but it looks like others are the net could use some help on it.

Hrmm, shucks, that also reminds me of my half finished Legaia ROM editor for the enemy stats. 野菜! Need to finish that sometime too. And I'm sure Red would like an XA editor too! Wish I could be Saint Nick for everyone this Christmas haha!

I thought it was you, who wanted to edit the game audio.
