So these forums are quite dead often. I notice that most members come onto the forums, look around, find no posts, then leave. What would you like to see added to the forums to make it more lively? Or would you prefer that the main site be updated in some way? I have some Legaia 2 things ready and put into HTML, but have not uploaded them because it would be...incomplete for the site. Of course, I guess I could add the materials and such to the pages...But I'll debate that with myself. Great, now I want to go play some more Legaia 2 just talking about it.

Anyways, What would you want added to the forums to make it more of a place to hang out? Do you have any ideas as to how it could make more than 1 post a day? Are the forum dollars nothing that make you post-crazy? I figured that having seru pets would be an awesome way for people to talk more often on here - but obviously that was wrong!

Give some ideas...Anything. Give your opinions on other peoples' ideas...etc. Help out!

Maybe you could make a special day every week or month that getting on the forums at a certain time where if we get on and use the shoutbox we get so many forum dollars. I don't know if thats possible but its an idea.

That's not a bad idea...If anyone else wants to support the idea, say it now...And I may plan it out and announce it for the site. Of course, I'm accepting any offers people have to say. This site goes on and off, and lately has been REALLY off. I'd like to see it stay on .

This is an old post but seeing the shoutbox made me think it still had relevancy.

One idea I had was, somewhere above or below the shoutbox could be some form of'ticker'. One that would show recent new posts/replies. It doesnt have to show a ton, maybe just 3 or 4. That way, someone coming through could see what the most recent stuff was without having to dig through individual sections. I know that sometimes makes me not want to post.

I like the "10 Dollar Friday" Thing. (is that right? Dangit I'm tired again lol). My only problem with that is just that atm, I'm a full-time dad, so everyday seems relatively the same. So friday usually doesn't feel much different to me than Monday.

One more idea... Most of us have been here for a while (Some of you since the site went up I'm sure). I'm also willing to bet that nearly everyone surfs one or more forums outside of this one. The idea? A tiny "ad banner" of sorts that could be added to our sigs. It doesnt have to be big and overwhelming, just something large enough to catch the eye and make it plain and clear that its adverting a LoL Site for those who love it. May seem kind of cheap in some ways but 野菜 if I don't want to see our dreams come to fruition!

We have that . Depending on the theme will depend on the location of the buttons. On the Rainbow Pearl template (the default one most of us have), you'll see a section that says "Board Index" right under the shoutbox. You can choose:

View unanswered posts: These are topics that haven't been replied to yet. I'm ashamed to know that all of them but 1 are mine, lol.
View active topics: Current topics that are receiving posts - displayed within 'x' amount of days, depending on the setting you choose at the bottom.
Mark forums read: Just mark every single forum and thread read...So it's as if you viewed them.
View unread posts: Any posts that you haven't seen or read yet, they'll show up on a list here. This is what you're primarily talking about.
View new posts: Posts made the day you click the button.
View your posts: Just as it sounds.

Friday and Saturday are my two most difficult days, but it happens to be the most active day for most people...In other words, it's the 2nd busiest business-wise, first being Saturday. I figured that since likely most are off work and doing whatever they want, I'd choose Friday as the day. Plus, 99% of Saturday's I work 14 hours...So there's literally no time for me to jump on here and check things (unless it's slow at my one job and I use the wi-fi to see what's going on). That's the main reason I chose Friday... If it turns out to be a bad day for almost every member here, I'll change it.

Only one member actually joined close to the same day the site went up... Yes, the site went up February 2nd (Was supposed to be the 1st). Henri joined the 8th. After that, a bunch of March's joined, lol.

Anyway, back to what you were saying. Do you mean something like a userbar, perhaps? Those catch a lot of attention, as long as they're not hoarded together by other ones. I suppose I could arrange to get one made for each class...That's honestly a great idea. Thanks! I don't know when I'll have it done, but I'll do it as soon as I have some free time.

when I was messing with themes, I thought I saw something about showing certain posts. Shows some more exploring is needed!

And yes, a userbar. I'm not sure I ever knew the name of that lol, but yes, thats what i had in mind. Most forums allow for a sig and something like a userbar may grab more attention. I know personally, I sometimes read right by sigs, at least depending on my mood at the time. With the great work on the site, I'm sure youll have no problem putting something like that together!

How about a recent post tab on the side?? Tell us who recently posted on what topic

I thought we already discussed this? There's a "view new posts", "view unanswered posts", etc. at the top. Depending on your theme will depend on its location.

I think part of the problem is that there's about 6 people who frequently post, and if there's only a couple of people on, most communication is likely to be through the shoutbox. Ultimately, it comes down to needing more members, but the Catch-22 is that we'd need more things going on in order to attract new members.
