The the point of games isnt if the main character is mature...

I found lang old enough... 16-21 is great... Lang is only immature if you make him childlike.... Like when you choose storyline options... Like wether Lang peeps in the girls bathroom...

And I realize the point of the game isn't if the MC is mature, the point is the gameplay

But I believe the industry should constantly be pushing forward in order to improve, and one of the ways to give more life to JRPGs is to change up cliches

The original cliches for this story is "a adolescent trying to save his hometown"
Then it moved on to " discovering his true power...". Then it's "I GOTTA STOP HIM!" arc

Really his motives change alot...


And you wanna see a " let's save the world" cliche?
Watch the last episode of inuyasha... IT REALLY ENDED WITH "COMEON GUYS, LET'S STOP NARAKU AND SAVE TYE WORLD!!!!!!11!!!1!!111!!!!"

Then comes the second failure of a ending with inuyasha: the final act...

2. Hero comes from a small village separated from errbody else
3. Hero goes on an adventure in order to save his home
4. Castle with an evil ruler
5. Ends up in the prison and meets a new party member
6. This new party member is a younger girl, quiet, shy, with magical powers
7. They escape the prison and are helped by random strangers that become friends/allies
8. Travel to a location far off in order to boost their powers
9. Meet an old man who becomes the hero's master
10. Hero goes through a trial of sorts in order to learn a powerful skill
11. Sexualized young woman joins the party
12. Quiet giant from a distant people joins the party
13. Villain is the same type of being as the hero
14. Collect a number of powerful objects of certain elements to stop the bad guys
15. Skilled swordsman becomes a bad guy after becoming an enemy of his master
16. This evil swordsman is similar to the hero in technique and fighting style
17. The hero comes from a special race of beings that makes him "above" the others
