Back On Track
Re: Back On Track
I can afford them now as it is but if I buy them then a team that is ready to make a third that I don't know about may see they are not available and then not make a third Legaia. Overall, I just wanna play another Legaia game that is as good as the first so I'm not opposed to someone else getting the rights. However, I hope they make their intentions known because I would be making sure they got my resume so I could have a part in it.
Another reason I don't but them is my extra money is in a retirement fund I built up while I was in the Marines and they fine you for taking money out before you retire. It sucks but I don't think anyone should buy them without being able to do anything with it.

Re: Back On Track
yeah you make a good point Hiro. That's why everyone here has to go to the closest college and learn how to make video games. Okay that is your homework everyone you have a wek to do it

Re: Back On Track
Just because you can afford the copyright doesn't necessarily mean you're ready. There's hundreds of other things you need to be ready to afford. And considering if we make a third game, it should def. look like a next-gen game not some rip off game... Therefore expenses need to be made in professional 3d artists, game designers, game programmers, etc. Let's just say getting the copyright and those rights are the easy part.

Re: Back On Track
yeah the hard part is like Voldemort. Don't even talk about it. So for now let's just work on what we would like to see implemented in the third. We'll do the hard work when the time comes

Re: Back On Track
k7's right, alot of work goes into a game, usually its seperated into sections and could take 4-10 years to actually publish
like in the beginning of ffx 10, you read
like in the beginning of ffx 10, you read
project: Final Fantasy 10
1999-2002

it really do be like that tho
Re: Back On Track
It is definitely hard work getting a game published and takes a variety of different talents. I've been working on a game for 3 months now and have barely got past designing it. Mostly because of family life is why it is taking so long for me but when it is my job in the future I'm sure I'll progress a lot faster but it will still take a long time and a lot of work.
I do feel ya on the fact that having the rights to Legaia being awesome though.

Re: Back On Track
I hope someone does soon. I mean, I want myself and K7 to be a big part of it but if I can't be I would settle for just playing an awesome sequel.
Just to keep with the point of this topic though, I think it may have been mentioned before about changes to the battle system. I don't know if any of you have played the Wild Arms games but when XSEED got their hands on it and changed the battle system on it I thought the whole game suffered from just that. I mean a new system may be cool but whoever designs it should be careful.
Any other opinions on that?

Re: Back On Track
That's true, a new battle system could easily ruin what made the game so good
But on the other hand, FInal Fantasy moved from ATB to the god-like FFX TB battle system
Ya never really know I guess

Re: Back On Track
well in FFX the system was good but also bad. You can see that square pretty much changed their minds about it if you look at FFX-2 or FFXII. Personally I like Legaia's battle system as is. But i do think that a new one might draw the attention of new players. So Im torn between the new and the old. I just cant decide
