I will fix this list as I decide to learn more. For pricing information, state exactly what you want your device to do, the model of the device, the current "version" it's on, and I'll PM you with pricing information.

I can attempt the softmod to install the software that allows it to read custom disks, but if it's as stubborn as my ps2, I'd have to buy the swapmagic and the parts that allow you to swap the disks with backups. If the softmod is successful, then as far as I know, just play backups. There is probably more that you can do, but I never looked into it. And backups include PS1 games

Is there any way to use swap magic that you know of without taking the top off a ps2 fat? I tried the forcing the disc player open on my old one which is similar/same as my new one and that didn't work. On my old ps2 I had the top off so I could just switch it but when I moved to Kansas it broke so I got a refurbished one from Gamestop. Where it's used and whatnot and having the top off isn't good anyways was hoping there would be some kind of workaround.

I think the ps2 phat uses a tool to force the drive open. In other words, there is no top to open/close. I could be wrong, but that's what I remember. But besides softmod, that's the only way I know you can do swap magic for it.
