So after I finished my recent playthroughs of Legend of Legaia and Legaia 2 with basically 100% completion/perfect games, I decided to play some other games I've played on PS2 before.
I rented Onimusha: Warlords from Blockbuster when it first came out and played it for like a week. I haven't played it again since so I decided to get it on my emulator now. Not only do I love it again, I'm now hooked on the entire series.
I finished Onimusha: Warlords last weekend (which doesn't take long since the game can be finished in under 3 hours). I'm mid way thru Onimusha 2 right now. I think I like the first game slightly more because it's the original but I like what they've done with the playable sub-characters in the sequel. Not liking the friendship system though. Or the fact that I need to play the game several times to get 100% completion.
So anyone else play/played these games too?
Also, being a Mortal Kombat series fan too, I really can't help myself with saying, "Your soul is mine!!!" almost every minute in the Onimusha games.
Onimusha series
Re: Onimusha series
Warlords was the first one I ever played, and I think I was...8 or 9 when I played it.
It obviously kicked my こし
I DID eventually beat it, and I liked it.
The only other one I played was Blade Warriors. Overall it was a pretty fun game. It was made even better after I unlocked MM.exe and Zero. Played that for a LOOOOONG time after that. I kinda miss that game...

Re: Onimusha series
Warlords is effing amazing. I just wish it was a little longer. I mean it has great replayable quality with all the hidden modes and all. But once you unlock Ultimate Mode, there's not much more you can do better.
I've been trying to get Blade Warriors to work on my emulator but it's not happening for some reason. First it wouldn't play at all and just stays at black screen. I got around that but now it lags like crazy. The whole game is a gigantic lag fest.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny (which I'm playing right now) is okay. It's longer than the first game AND you get to go back thru the castle from the first game. But I don't like that you need to go thru it multiple times to get all the scenarios.

Re: Onimusha series
onimusha warlords was a great game but I've beaten it so many times that i can beat it in under 3 hours now, the second one i found rather boring i am not sure how to explain it but it just lacked something the first had that made it great, dont know if i could bring myself to beat that game got far i remember that. Now the third one just plain sucked, i played it a long time ago at a Sony truck for about 10 min and said screw this. If they made any others past that point i cant remember but the point is i haven't played them.
