Skies of Arcadia / Legends

So pretty everyone on the internet was raving about how great Skies of Arcadia was and how it was so underrated, and one of my buddies said it was one of his favorite game. I managed to pick up a copy, pretty excited to play it.

I'm probably about 2/3 into the game. I gotta say, I'm super disappointed. Battle system felt antiquated relative to it's Dreamcast release window. Battles just felt really slow, the animations for every action (items, magic spells, attacking) were so long. One plus was the spirit points.

Characters by themselves are rather generic feeling, but they do work well together. Especially Vyse and Aika. Story isn't too exciting.

To be honest; I think it's a below average game. A very overrated underrated game if that makes sense. Thoughts guys?

lol I'm one of the people that really likes it >.>

But you're definitely right saying that it's overrated; it totally is.

I did enjoy it though, and thought Vyse was a pretty great hero

Never played Legends

Battles and ship battles take soo long. My last ship battle was around 30 minutes. Game probably isn't as long as it really is.

Legends is just the GameCube port with some extras.

I've been trying to find a decent priced copy of this for Dreamcast. I've heard great things and really want to play it. I'm sure i'll be disappointed. After all, I was a little disappointed in Shenmue (though I still really liked it).

Yeah it's pretty pricey even a used copy. I managed to snag a copy off CL, but it was only the disc, not case, manual or art cover.
