Anybody else "drifting away" from games lately?

I used to be OBSESSED with video games. Almost all of my free time was spent either playing, learning about, or discussing games and it was a lot of fun. But recently, I've spent less and less time with them and more with other stuff.

I'm sure my getting into music more has a lot to do with it, but when I first got started, I had the urge to do both, so I'd plug my iPod in and listen to that while the TV was muted.

But in the last three weeks, I've only played games for like....5-6 hours max, and it wasn't very fun. In the last week alone I've only played some DS Chrono Trigger and that's it.

I just feel like there aren't enough games nowadays to keep my attention, so I went back to PSone classics or playing PS2-era games with friends, but it just feels....empty. Like I'm just playing them to pass the time.

Anyone else feel like this?

I'm only drifting away because of my work and school. If I really wanted to blow everything off and have fun, I could totally do it and would probably love it (at the same time as hating it...). I haven't drifted away from video games, but have definitely drifted from what's defined as "good." In other words I disagree with a lot of opinions on "good" games... e.g. diablo 3 sucks IMO.

Only because I've been busier now than at any point in my life. In addition to completing all my schoolwork to make sure I get my undergrad this semester I'm also setting up my multimedia business and planning a business meeting in Macao set for this August.

I still love video games, but I guess I have been drifting away from JRPGs. They don't make them like they used to. Only RPGs I've played for this generation that I would call 'amazing' are The Witcher 2, Demon's Souls, and Dark Souls.

I have been drifting lately. Nowadays I'm only really able to play games while watching a show or movie. otherwise I get bored. I guess in other words I've become a multitasker. I miss the good old days when I could just totally lose my time in a great beautiful game, but now I'm more interested in making my own beautiful world to escape in via my writing

Well I took a break and started playing FFVI, Chrono Trigger (sSNESv), and MMX

And now, I'm back to modern gaming! Can't wait to pick up Dragon's Dogma, Tekken Tag 2 and Anarchy Reigns

Nier would like a word with you. And Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. And Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes. Maybe a few others I'm forgetting/haven't played.

Forgotten sands was a rare okay game... Say all you want; that game doesn't compare to the first one (2002 I think) and the third one (2008 I think)

Those old games gave me a challenge!
This new Prince of Persia is udder crap...

And recently, the SSS XENOBLADE

And quite a few more
