MLB 2013 Season

Post by van » Mon Apr 01, 2013 6:42 pm

Happy Opening day!

Some story lines for the season:
::How will the Astros fare in their first season in the AL West? Well already beat the Rangers in their opening game. Can they avoid 100 losses?
::Interleague everyday, each league contains 15 teams each now. Unfamiliar looking schedules out there.
::Harper versus Trout, can Bryce Harper close the gap between them? Trout had a monster season last year, but Harper already put up 2 dingers in the first game.

I'm going to make an absolutely startling revelation: The Chicago Cubs will not win the World Series this year, extending their championship drought to 105 straight years.
Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.

At least they'll win more games than the Astros.

Mariners!
::Felix is still Felix, 7.2 IP, 0 ER, 8 K, 0 BB and offense support: 5 singles (3 off them lucky)
::That's it...

Edit 1----04 April 2013----
Astros like to strike out a lot, from Onley's blog:
Most strikeouts in first three games of season (since 1900)
2013 Houston Astros: 43
1966 California Angels: 36
2007 Atlanta Braves: 34
1961 Philadelphia Phillies: 33
ZIPS projection for Michael Morse's fWAR for the 2013 season 0.4
Michael Morse's actual fWAR through 3 games so far: 0.4

Edit 1----29 April 2013----
Astros > Mariners

I think it is hilarious that the Boston Red Sox dropped a major amount of payroll and are top of their division, while the Angels have a huge payroll and are sucking complete こし xD.

Puh-lease.

Remember when that guy hit a touchdown with his cricket stick as Obama punched Mike Tyson all over the first, second, and third bases, and America got its independence from Mars when that guy said "GOL!" when he made that home run?

Yeah, yesterday was crazy.

I have nothing to contribute to this thread.
it really do be like that tho

I love how the Angels aren't performing to what's expected. My most disliked team ever.

I live about 10 minutes away from the Angels stadium. It's really nice. Too bad they suck.

Actually I'm an Atlanta Braves fan, but they're the team that always makes it to the playoffs and loses the first or second round :/

And that is the reason that, as a Phillies fan, I despise the Braves. But it seriously seems like a divisional curse. Phillies did it, and the Nationals did it during the playoffs of the last two seasons.
