11/11/11 Veterans Day

So, first off, I want to say thanks to all the veterans past, present, and future. It's a big sacrifice and one that all veterans should be proud of.
Second, I want to let the forum know that I'm a veteran myself (6 years in the Marines) and would like you all to celebrate, either now or sometime soon, your freedom and the sacrifices that all the veterans make. My personal favorite way to celebrate is to get my drink on but if you're under age you should find another way, sorry.
Third, I want to complain a little. Every year I look forward to a free meal from Denny's or Applebees but this year I only had time to go to Denny's and they only had their deal going on from 6AM to 2PM and for all of those hours I was at work. I mean is it that hard to give a veteran a free grandslam all day, it's not like I got be a Marine for just 8 hours in Iraq, I was on 24/7 for a whole year!!! They didnt even put a "Thank You Veterans" sign up. And, I had to work on our special day, what kind of a place do I live in that they don't care that I gave up my childhood to become a man early and almost died 5 times for them.
Ok, I'm done now.
One last thing though, moments of silence for those that gave their lives is corny. I haven't seen a warrior leave this world quietly or live quietly, we hate quiet. Be loud, be proud, and make some noise for those that stand up for us all in America.
I also want to point out that this is the first veterans day I've been a member here and I think it's the first Veterans day for the site. Just another bennchmark to be proud of.
