So, first off, I want to say thanks to all the veterans past, present, and future. It's a big sacrifice and one that all veterans should be proud of.

Second, I want to let the forum know that I'm a veteran myself (6 years in the Marines) and would like you all to celebrate, either now or sometime soon, your freedom and the sacrifices that all the veterans make. My personal favorite way to celebrate is to get my drink on but if you're under age you should find another way, sorry.

Third, I want to complain a little. Every year I look forward to a free meal from Denny's or Applebees but this year I only had time to go to Denny's and they only had their deal going on from 6AM to 2PM and for all of those hours I was at work. I mean is it that hard to give a veteran a free grandslam all day, it's not like I got be a Marine for just 8 hours in Iraq, I was on 24/7 for a whole year!!! They didnt even put a "Thank You Veterans" sign up. And, I had to work on our special day, what kind of a place do I live in that they don't care that I gave up my childhood to become a man early and almost died 5 times for them.

Ok, I'm done now.

One last thing though, moments of silence for those that gave their lives is corny. I haven't seen a warrior leave this world quietly or live quietly, we hate quiet. Be loud, be proud, and make some noise for those that stand up for us all in America.

I also want to point out that this is the first veterans day I've been a member here and I think it's the first Veterans day for the site. Just another bennchmark to be proud of.

Many members of my family have served or are currently serving. I also have friends who have, are, or are thinking about serving, and i think they deserve way more then a free grand slam. the the the the throw in desert at least lol.

Anyway to celebrate I'm just going to act drunk since I'm to young to actually do it lol. Actually I'm not sure what I'm gonna do but I'll figure it out

Well, my wife bought me dinner so I guess that I got it for free anyways but it still sucks my meal wasn't free.

But on a more positive note, I am thankful for your friends and family. Who knows, I may have met one or two of them in the past.

The amount of awesome in those 5 sentences is beautiful

Honestly, I don't do anything special or show my appreciation for Veteran's Day. This topic makes me sad about that :|

Ya know what, I'm gonna show my appreciation a helluva lot more!

Sorry your veteran's day was the greatest due to those two restaurants... But I hope the rest of your day came out really well for you. Thanks for serving and thanks to anyone else who has done so as well. P.S. Sorry for the late reply >.>
