Re: annihilation
You gotta want it.
Plus, Lapis has a pretty decent drop, iirc, it's the Mettle Goblet or something. Definitely worth all the defeat you'll go through. (Easy way out's too easy).

Re: annihilation
That's your problem, not mine. I'd prefer a consistent strategy, thank you kindly.
I'm working on Songi 3 now (levels are 25 for everyone), and sadly, this is the last boss I can deal with via Ebony Jewels. Which is depressing, in some sense.
I'm using the following setup:
Vahn: Magic Grail / Defender Chain / Ebony Jewel
Noa: Mettle Gem / Defender Chain / Ebony Jewel
Gala: Speed Chain / Ebony Jewel / Life Grail
It seems to be working relatively well... The problem is that I don't have that many Healing Flowers / Healing Berries left. I will undoubtedly have to buy some more for Cort 2. And yes, I rely on those for healing since it saves a lot of time over watching a summon animation. Though when multiple characters need healing, I can use Orb or use a Healing Fruit.
Oh, and Lapis's drop is the Evil Medallion, which induces the Rage (i.e. Berserk) status on the equipped character.

Do not question yourself with the why or the how. I simply am, and that is all you need to know.

Re: annihilation
Neither situations are problems. Just preferences. Like how Lone loves to grind and I prefer to stay slightly underleveled.Nightshade wrote:That's your problem, not mine. I'd prefer a consistent strategy, thank you kindly.
They really should've given a toggle setting for that.It seems to be working relatively well... The problem is that I don't have that many Healing Flowers / Healing Berries left. Ah yes. I was guessing that was it, but I couldn't for the life of me remember what that ability does. It makes Vahn attack at random and he never loses AP right? (I've never beaten Lapis and thus never seen the item, but I know somewhat of it).Oh, and Lapis's drop is the Evil Medallion, which induces the Rage (i.e. Berserk) status on the equipped character.
And JC, at this point, I'm pretty sure Lapis is a woman. >:P
it really do be like that tho

Re: annihilation
I wish they didn't make it vulnerable to Dark magic. Would make the fight a lot harder (no way out but to fight it directly).

Re: annihilation
You can instantly kill Lapis with the Jedo spell. To do so, you'll want a Chicken King, Speed Chain, a Magic Fruit, and the Dark Talisman.JCTC wrote:who vulenerable to dark magic?
Enter the battle normally (with one character with the Chicken King equipped) and Lapis will drain your MP to 0 with Lapis Wave. Run from the battle. Then re-enter the battle; since no character has any MP, Lapis won't use Lapis Wave, meaning you will retain your Max MP. When you enter the battle this time, make sure one party member (preferably Gala) has the Speed Chain and the Dark Talisman. On turn 2, have Vahn and Noa use Magic Fruits on Gala. On turn 3, Gala can use Jedo before Lapis uses his Lapis Wave for an instant-kill.
