The Tale of Sise-Neg

Just talk about stuff in general...Doesn't matter what it is.

The Tale of Sise-Neg

Post by LegaiaWiki » Tue Jun 26, 2012 7:08 pm

For the fans of comics, I have posted the two Marvel comics based on the character that inspired my username. They were published in Marvel Premiere #13-14 in 1972 by the team of Steve Englehart (author) and Frank Brunner (co-author/artist). Within the comic, Doctor Strange follows the time-traveling sorcerer, Sise-Neg, in his desperate attempt to save all reality as he knows it. The first issue is "Time Doom" followed by "Sise-Neg Genesis". The stories are filled with a lot of mysticism hocus-pocus stuff, and that's what's awesome about classic Doctor Strange stories.

If you're up to date with Marvel Comics, you'll probably realize just how much the quality of writing has degenerated for the company in modern days after reading this awesome story.

By the way, this was considered so "edgy" of a story back then since Sise-Neg was on a journey to become God that Stan Lee, the CEO/Founder of Marvel initially forced the authors to write a retraction - but the authors wrote a fake fan letter to themselves from a fake minister, praising the story, and Stan Lee let them publish it.

Enjoy.

Thus ends the tale of Sise-Neg, who has only once afterwards been referenced in Marvel Comics.

I do enjoy me some Dr. Strange. I've heard talks of a new Dr. Strange movie being made...I kinda hope it doesn't happen (unless the right people make it). They'd probably never be able to do it justice.
