Alright so walnutz and I had an argument and cliches were brought up. I typed up a lil list real quick but didn't finish all of it. He wants me to finish. So....here

1. Young, teenage hero....with a sword...and the element of fire...with no parents...and a mysterious birth mark
2. Hero comes from a small village separated from errbody else
3. Hero goes on an adventure in order to save his home
4. Castle with an evil ruler
5. Ends up in the prison and meets a new party member
6. This new party member is a younger girl, quiet, shy, with magical powers
7. They escape the prison and are helped by random strangers that become friends/allies
8. Travel to a location far off in order to boost their powers
9. Meet an old man who becomes the hero's master
10. Hero goes through a trial of sorts in order to learn a powerful skill
11. Sexualized young woman joins the party
12. Quiet giant from a distant people joins the party
13. Villain is the same type of being as the hero
14. Collect a number of powerful objects of certain elements to stop the bad guys
15. Skilled swordsman becomes a bad guy after becoming an enemy of his master
16. This evil swordsman is similar to the hero in technique and fighting style
17. The hero comes from a special race of beings that makes him "above" the others
18. Dungeons based on elements (volcano for fire item, wind tower for wind item, etc)
19. Mysterious being tells heroes their quest and the truth of the hero

Anyone wanna finish the list for me? Haven't played the game in like 3 years

I concur my good sir

I haven't heard of 45% of these cliches...

Like The elemental dungeons thing is unheard of... On my part.... Maybe its been heard of... But I haven't heard of it...

And you forgot one

20) some enemies that can kill you instantly (like the enemies that use that card game ability...)

I never heard of these. All the other ones you stated, I've heard of. That being said, how many did the first game have? I'm pretty sure it was more then the second one, though the first game was way more better in depth then the second.

You have to remember cliches are cliches for a reason they work. and also any cliches that Legaia 1 might have arent actually cliches since its such an old game. Cliches have to come from somewhere

Yes, cliches and stuff can work, but Legaia 2 was mediocre (imo) because it didn't even try to hide them really. It basically gave us a typical JRPG and then slapped the LoL battle system on it (which is great)

Okay you have a point. But it's not like Legaia 2 didnt have a personality of it's own. I feel like it could've been a pretty great game if they hadn't used the Legaia title to get my hopes up to draw me in. Because as soon as I noticed it wasn't an actual sequel I immediately went from a "This game is awesome" to an "Ehhh it's okay"
