Feels weird that the Heroes go through the mirror and land at the same exact time they wanted to show up. There wasn't any controls, so is the mirror limited to how far it can be used? Or is that the Ra-seru made it work they way they needed?

I think the Ra-Seru most likely had a hand in it.

If I may chime in with a theory.

The game says (somewhere, don't have the exact quote) that the creation of the Seru Flame and the Mirror of the Past were created by the Sim-Seru engulfing Conkram. Since that Seru was created on the day of the Mist accident (note that the clam shell containing the Sim-Seru exists after you come back from Rogue's Tower), it may be less than coincidence that the Seru Flame takes you back to the day of the Seru's creation.

Like I said, a theory with a bit of evidence behind it, but a plausible explanation better than "coincidence".

ANOTHER LEGAIA PLAYTHROUGH!!

I want to say it's the King of Conkram, but I'm not sure when he says this or how to trigger this statement.

It's either the Queen or the King. Maybe you have to talk to the Queen after you get the Flame but before you go to the past? That or you have to go talk to the King after you get back from the Past.

But the fact that you can use the Mirrors BEFORE the Sim-Seru actually set foot into the castle is interesting........
