Dohati

Looking back, I think that Dohati is probably the worse villain in Legend of Legaia. He looks ridiculous, is fairly weak, and has almost no build up or background. It seems like they just kind of threw him in to have someone at the Sebucus Islands Mist Generator. After the tough boss battles against Berserker and Xain and the storyline with Saryu, Dohati was a huge disappointment.

Dohati as a character is just a fat, ugly piece of crap. However, he is pretty important to the storyline as far as events go, even though we don't directly see him doing things. After all, he is the one that caused Saryu to go crazy and start up the Seru Bride campaign, and he also is the one who ordered Xain to kill Hari - both significantly important events. Plus, despite how 何だよこれ! he looks in battle, I thought his fight was pretty interesting, hitting everyone in the beginning with Chaos Breath that inflicts venom and getting slightly bigger every time he got hit. He also has a pretty neat castle design.

I think my problem was is that I just don't really care for Dohati as a character. It's kind of hard to describe why. The thing I liked about Songi, Zeto, and the Delilases is that they gave off the vibe that they weren't just there to defeat you in order to help out Cort, they were out to get you personally and were very active in doing so. The more monstrous enemy like Berserker and Xain usually had the toughest boss battles (I love the boss battles in Legaia), and of course Cort has the tragic hero element and the fact that he's Noa's brother puts a bit of twist on things. Dohati felt like a more typical villain that tricks stupid people into listening to him and then sits back in his castle never really doing anything until you show up to beat him.
In my opinion, Dohati just doesn't feel as developed as many of the other antagonists. Also, though I'm sure some people will disagree, I found his boss battle to be fairly easy and lacking the epic feel of many of the other battles.
Also, was the Seru bride Dohati's idea or was it just a result of Saryu going insane?

Yeah, I see what you're saying about Dohati. He has very little screen time compared to the other villains so he doesn't leave as much of an impact.
As far as the Seru Brides, well Dohati is the one who gave Saryu the evil Sim-Seru and it gave Saryu a command to make an infinite number of Juggernaut monsters. Either the Sim-Seru is the one who knew how it would be done or Saryu already knew how to create Juggernauts due to already having a machine that could create it beforehand.

Ugh. Why would you quote one of my terrible old posts.
Yes, Dohati wasn't even remotely a challenge for me (even played the game another time and still can't remember him to well). Really not fit to be a boss for the generator- Xain and the first Cort gave me the biggest challenge out of all Legaia bosses.
