Snowdrift Cave

One of the things that struck me as a little odd was that if you go back to Snowdrift Cave after defeating Zeto and freeing Drake Kingdom from the Mist, there won't be any random encounters.

It completely makes sense that there are no random encounters when Noa and Terra are trapped in the cave, since there wouldn't be other enemies to worry about due to X years of isolation. But it is a little odd that there are also no encounters after the Mist is gone and the cave is opened.

I guess there's a second question here as well: Since we know from Noa's dream that the Soren dropped Noa near Mt. Rikuroa's Genesis Tree and Terra awoke there, there is an unanswered question of how they made it to the cave in the first place.

Thoughts on these questions?

I don't get it. How do you go back to Snowdrift Cave? After Noa and Terra defeat the rock monster, the entrance collaspses.

As for the second question, Terra simply could have carried Noa there.

You go around through the valley where Zeto's Dungeon is, and through the "Blocking" where you would get the Nail Glove had you visited before Terra and Noa go to Mt. Rikuroa for the first time.

Yes, but I guess I'm wondering if there was some sort of cave-in that trapped them there.

Yeah, it's a mountain with snow on it. I assumed they went into the cave for shelter or maybe to eat the cave mushrooms, then there was an avalanche while they were inside.

Seems like a reasonable enough theory. That, or Terra engineered a collapse to protect Noa from the Mist long enough that she would be physically strong enough to fight against the Mist and its henchmen when the time came.

Well a cave-in would imply that they survived on only mushrooms, and what I would assume to be no water, which is really improbable. Though I suppose even the mushrooms need a source of hydration, so there could be a clean source somewhere.

Also, taking in the fact that there was a herd of Piuras in the same cave, there must've been a way for said animals to come in and out with ease for food and water. So I doubt they were closed off, but rather they were sharing their den with the Piuras.

I don't think animals/monsters are that curious, considering the fact that most animals in the real world don't stray too far from their established den/home. Perhaps within a few more years, there could've been small animals like rodents and other borrow animals that could've found their way in, but otherwise eh.

You can get random encounters going back into Snowdrift. Its just the 4-leged mushroom things and blue pirua however.
